Crazy Insane Photo Manipulation in Gimp

Genius, i have saved this as i am just starting with gimp and make basic images with layers. One problem i had though, the tutorial seems to be a bit fast.

@mariahub duh, u have to get an image from the internet or from ur computer or camera and save it in a folder then go to gimp and click file-open then find the folder u saved ur image in and select your image.... :p

what i do instead of using the path tool all the time(because its a pain) i take the image add a transparency layer,click the fuzzy tool,select the open spaces, right click and select cut. it helps alot.

BUMMER! My project was killed when I tried to "feather" because that isn't an option with the Gimp I have which was free and downloaded yesterday.

@JessiesDaftStuff Trial and error, I found the feather after clicking a different "edit" then when I clicked "cut" it cut out what I wanted to keep. There are no help files and I cant find the update button. Not a good program to use.

Hi really good tutorial and nice image at the end. One tiny criticism but it isn't important at all :p Your castle shadow should not "get off" the hand. Shadows do not float in the air, they have to be on a surface ;)

You should use layer mask instead of using the eraser, makes it a lot easier if you get rid of too much.
