@havock202 1 light/half is normal...2 lights on is highbeams,,most bike are made like that last few years,,its normal when ur riding only one light weill be on...
Have the 09 AUSPEC model... had it on a dyno shoot out, pretty much stock except for a slipon (i do handling before power) no tune etc etc. It was pissing down rain and the bike shop still decided it was a good idea to put the dyno outside well even with the rear wheel spinning on the dyno she still managed to pull 173 hp and only lost to a b-king about 180 hp. (cool story bro i know) straight line pull at about 60kph against my mate on a 2009 r1, his words "your bike just jumped and good bye"
Google image amanojyaku71 and you will see me on the dragon on my 08 cbr1000 and me on my old gsxr750.Trust me dudes the cbr is just like they say nimble as a 600 with 1000cc power. But get whatever you want.If you are just starting out go with the gsxr750 or a nice safe bike is the cbr600 with abs.
Do these really handle relatively like a 600? I've heard that alot and didn't believe it, I've ridden an '04 R1, 05 Gixxer 1K, and 07 1000RR and none of those felt anything like a 600, well the R1 felt the smallest and lightest. But after hearing these weigh under 440lbs, it's believable since the 2004 model 600's weighed about the same. I'd love to ride one of these, but no one around here has one.
@buckwheat40 I don't like the Plastics on the new bike I have no problem with the handling and power just it doesn't look as good as the older models that's all
@buckwheat40 Well the main thing making this bike ugly is the only thing! It's the front! Love the headlights, but i hate the flat face! The 06 CBR 1000 was the best looking one! But this bike is perfect for people who don't really care about looks over performance! My list of great looking bikes go. 1. Ducati 1198s 2. BMW S 1000 RR 3. Aprilia RSV 4 Factory 5. Yamaha R1 6. Gsxr 1000 7. Kawasaki zx 10 8. Honda CBR 1000 The 06 CBR 1000 would be at the 4th spot! I'm a huge Kawasaki fan though!

I live in Florida and ride a cbr 954. My bike does well, but occasionally has issues, but not to the point of over heating. The Fireblade years after my bike fixed this problem with a radiator that is larger and has a better angle.
I have a 2006 CBR1000RR. It is a great bike. I have 50,000 miles on it. It still runs great. No problems overheating. Great motorcycle!!! Good Luck!!!!

andygreek69. . . dukes are amazing bikes, but not everyone can fork out a SH$# house worth of money for bikes that perform exactly like jap bikes. yes people do speak about the taillights, the frontlights, the exhausts .etc. but thats what its all about, saying what you like and what you dont like about the things you own. . .or in some cases dont own. i enjoy my bike and it cost me possibly half of what yours cost and i get my grin when i accelerate past most cars and alot of bikes. choices. .
all of you guys are faggots, debating about the lights, power, etc. wtf seriously. i have a easy solution, stop arguing of continuous pieces of crap, and start looking at ducati's. bikes that deserve the attention.
licmy3balls you are an absolute retard!!how can you even compare the looks of a kawa or even think that honda resembles anything like it!!you sound like the type who can count your IQ on one hand!!anyway enough about that retard!!i own the 08 fireblade and the only reason i own it is because i have test ridden all of the 1000s and its the only one i can honestly say that can be ridden for long periods of time without having to take the bike apart and put it back together like a two stroke motor.
I read in a thread that there was a recall for the oil problem and if you bring it back to the dealer they will take care of it. The 08's that are sitting at dealers should have already been fixed.
ya they need to make the front headlight cowling look pretty. Its kinda ugly. They also ruined the GSXR, its got the ugliest headlights I've ever seen!!!
yes I'm sure the GSXR is better technologically but it looks like shit, Suzuki needs to make it pretty, like the 96-99 GSXR 750's, with the double lights. That was a beautifull bike
The 2006/2007 bike has only one advantage and I noticed that because the day that I rode both models was very windy: on the road at hight speed with that weather conditions, it surpasses in stability the 2008 model.
(this is my opinion) I think that honda's mask Turned out HORRIBLE (ugly) I like the model before. Yamaha i think is still better, their R1's have a sharp look. In my thought i say Honda is Last out of all Japaniese Bikes. (yamaha suzuki kawasaki)
Wow, all the fighting, is hilarious! Honda in no way, even though the bike lost alot of style looks or is anything like a kawy, Kawy has always been about power it seems, honda handling...but now honda has got both and its great, just wish they could've kept the styling of the previous 1000RR maybe change a bit but the drastic change of 08-09...not diggin it! I will just have to go out and find a 07 or older i guess!
uh ok, and i suppose you sitting behind your comp talking shit like a coward makes you an expert. go do something useful, like swallow glass, or blow your head off.
Bite me faggot. The RR has nothing to do with a Kawasaki. You're just some dipshit who doesn't know more about bikes than what the headlights are shaped like.
We all know you don't do anything but ride to Starbucks and run from cops on the freeway, so shut the fuck up.
you got it, thats all i do. i am not the only one who sees the similarities in the zx10 and the honda. do you research and you wont look like such a fucking tool.
Yeah, you are the only one. What's the same, idiot? They both have two wheels, a 1 liter engine, radial brakes, a slipper clutch? Them and every other liter bike. You're a moron, you have no fucking clue what you're talking about, and it's obvious. I ride and race with hundreds of people in my area and read the moto press, and oddly no one but you is saying the RR has anything to do with the zook. So just shut the fuck up and crawl back in your hole.
you probably just said everything you know about bikes in that little paragraph....i dont give a fuck what you think you know, or what i know. you most likely ride a fucking bandit or nighthawk, or some other gay ass fucking bike and beat your dick to pics of bikes you dont have the balls to get on.
Got any more? This is good stuff. Every time you post it becomes more obvious how much a fucking clueless squid you are.
Go polish your fucking rims, moron. All you know about bikes is "huh huh Ninjas are cool" and it shows. Only a god damned idiot would say that Honda copied Kawasaki, because that makes no fucking sense at all.
you really are a fucking homo....you're probably masturbating to each of my posts, busting your nuts each time. 'squid' is a term used only by the sweetest of homosexuals, and is completely retarded. come up with something a 5 year old couldnt think of please.
well this is a fantastic bike (but i never try one of this) but the SUZUKI GSRX750 IS AWESOME very fast and versatile, and less heavy making it one of the most powerful motorcycles and fast but also very agile and quick in curves
5'10-5'11 any one can ride it as long as you can reach with both feet on the ground I hoped on the 1000rr 08 a few days ago in the dealer and Im 5'11 and its very comfortable and I reached perfectly on the flor XD
like buddy said they are all good...some have more tweeks than others for example.. you want acceleration -zx10...you want top speed- gsxr1000...you want comfort-honda cbr1000rr...it depends also on wish of these tweeks you prefer too XD
any of the top 4 suzuki, kawi, honda, yamaha are all great to have on the streets. you dont need to compare racetrack performances for a streetbike. the only thing you want to compare for street bike is comfort, how the bike fits to you and if both feet can sit on flat on the ground when stopped. i rode a k6 750, much more comfort then a yzf-r. there is no need to compare top end, accel on these bikes unless you are using it on a track. suzuki became my favorite from comfort.
You have a point. Only a handful of the regular populace can ride a supersport to its potential. Those who do on the street usually end up a statistic.
true story even my 08 R6 has way more power than anyone needs on the street and it kinda luers you in to doin crazy shit even tho you know you shouldnt be doing it
OMG your a genius i never thought of that! o wait i'm pretty sure nobody that's ate it said to themselves "hey im gonna go wreck my bike at 170mph+ today and plan to live"
Well I for one am looking at stepping up to a liter bike to compensate for my weight. I'm 6" and 315#. I just don't get the same ride out of a 600 as a 5'8" 150# dude would.
And what if I'd like to carry someone? That 600 would be working entirely too hard. The liter engine makes up that difference for someone like myself.
Why is it that so many are hung up on the "you'll never use that power" crap? Fine, don't buy a liter bike. I'll make my own decisions for myself though, thank you very much.
That's fine for you, as it suits your needs well. However, for someone of smaller stature or weight, a bike with that much power on normal roads just isn't practical.
Oh, and @ batty46: Not all of us have a crystal ball that can tell you when you are going to crash so you can avoid any accidents in the future. For normal riders, anything can happen on the road when there are other drivers to contend with. Most people I know act respectable while on a bike, regardless of how much power it has.
Not everyone is looking for practicality. The only thing I can't condone is a brand new rider starting out on one. Other than that I say get what you want.
I'm not sure what this strange obsession is that some riders have with trying to preach how no one needs/should be riding this/that.
When I said I was getting rid of my SV650 and getting a larger bike I had people jumping down my throat telling me how I "haven't outgrown the SV". That's funny considering how none of them even knew me.
Vams, the seat height is 820 mm (32.3 inches) and I've heard of guys well over 6' riding them just fine. I'd imagine anyone in the low 5' range or shorter would have a ha

Nobody from honda spain was able to solve this bad engine design problem.
kevincabrousner 2 years ago
I read in a thread that there was a recall for the oil problem and if you bring it back to the dealer they will take care of it. The 08's that are sitting at dealers should have already been fixed.
Matt7711 2 years ago
At least In Spain, no bro.
Here, official dealer say nothing is going wrong...
People are crazy with this theme, mainly for honda response in my country but already there has been some user with a broken engine for no oil.
I don't know why, but some people don't check oils level in a new bike... is really stupid too :[

This design is terrible! Total shit

vladburjassot 2 years ago
ya they need to make the front headlight cowling look pretty. Its kinda ugly. They also ruined the GSXR, its got the ugliest headlights I've ever seen!!!
buckwheat40 2 years ago 2
for me the gsx is much better than the previous models....i love it...it have a very good look
vladburjassot 2 years ago
yes I'm sure the GSXR is better technologically but it looks like shit, Suzuki needs to make it pretty, like the 96-99 GSXR 750's, with the double lights. That was a beautifull bike
buckwheat40 2 years ago
sincerly the new one is mi favorite....the most beautiful before ducati 1098....

About time Honda brought out a 'King' of superbikes... Although my heart's still with Yami's(R1).

Idiot, you don't know the first thing about bikes.
aluisious 3 years ago
uh ok, and i suppose you sitting behind your comp talking shit like a coward makes you an expert. go do something useful, like swallow glass, or blow your head off.
licmy3balls 3 years ago
Bite me faggot. The RR has nothing to do with a Kawasaki. You're just some dipshit who doesn't know more about bikes than what the headlights are shaped like.
We all know you don't do anything but ride to Starbucks and run from cops on the freeway, so shut the fuck up.
aluisious 3 years ago
you got it, thats all i do. i am not the only one who sees the similarities in the zx10 and the honda. do you research and you wont look like such a fucking tool.
licmy3balls 3 years ago
Yeah, you are the only one. What's the same, idiot? They both have two wheels, a 1 liter engine, radial brakes, a slipper clutch? Them and every other liter bike. You're a moron, you have no fucking clue what you're talking about, and it's obvious. I ride and race with hundreds of people in my area and read the moto press, and oddly no one but you is saying the RR has anything to do with the zook. So just shut the fuck up and crawl back in your hole.
aluisious 3 years ago
you probably just said everything you know about bikes in that little paragraph....i dont give a fuck what you think you know, or what i know. you most likely ride a fucking bandit or nighthawk, or some other gay ass fucking bike and beat your dick to pics of bikes you dont have the balls to get on.
licmy3balls 3 years ago
CBR600, jackass.
Got any more? This is good stuff. Every time you post it becomes more obvious how much a fucking clueless squid you are.
Go polish your fucking rims, moron. All you know about bikes is "huh huh Ninjas are cool" and it shows. Only a god damned idiot would say that Honda copied Kawasaki, because that makes no fucking sense at all.
aluisious 3 years ago
you really are a fucking homo....you're probably masturbating to each of my posts, busting your nuts each time. 'squid' is a term used only by the sweetest of homosexuals, and is completely retarded. come up with something a 5 year old couldnt think of please.

I'd rather see the down points of a bike on these reviews instead of just beafin up the shinning points.
It would be much more helpful

well this is a fantastic bike (but i never try one of this) but the SUZUKI GSRX750 IS AWESOME very fast and versatile, and less heavy making it one of the most powerful motorcycles and fast but also very agile and quick in curves

oH1TM4No 3 years ago
5'10-5'11 any one can ride it as long as you can reach with both feet on the ground I hoped on the 1000rr 08 a few days ago in the dealer and Im 5'11 and its very comfortable and I reached perfectly on the flor XD

which one is better? Honda CBR 1000RR, Suzuki GSX-R 1000, Kawasaki ZX-10R, Yamaha YZF-R1 or BMW S1000 RR?
sykipeja 3 years ago
they're all good, just depends what you like. rider makes all the difference in the world when it comes down to it!
buddybestor 3 years ago 2
I think about Yamaha, but Honda is also good.
sykipeja 3 years ago
like buddy said they are all good...some have more tweeks than others for example.. you want acceleration -zx10...you want top speed- gsxr1000...you want comfort-honda cbr1000rr...it depends also on wish of these tweeks you prefer too XD
ADCVirgo 3 years ago 2
So i need good stability on street. Acceleration have good all of them i think.
sykipeja 3 years ago
any of the top 4 suzuki, kawi, honda, yamaha are all great to have on the streets. you dont need to compare racetrack performances for a streetbike. the only thing you want to compare for street bike is comfort, how the bike fits to you and if both feet can sit on flat on the ground when stopped. i rode a k6 750, much more comfort then a yzf-r. there is no need to compare top end, accel on these bikes unless you are using it on a track. suzuki became my favorite from comfort.

Why the hell would you need that much power on general streets? Go to a freakin' track if you want to rip it up on a liter bike like that.
Anyway, sweet freakin' ride!
TheReapersSon 3 years ago 3
You have a point. Only a handful of the regular populace can ride a supersport to its potential. Those who do on the street usually end up a statistic.
TheToekutter 3 years ago
true story even my 08 R6 has way more power than anyone needs on the street and it kinda luers you in to doin crazy shit even tho you know you shouldnt be doing it
Kazakastan67 3 years ago
who gives a fuck simple answer to your problem DONT CRASH
batty46 3 years ago
OMG your a genius i never thought of that! o wait i'm pretty sure nobody that's ate it said to themselves "hey im gonna go wreck my bike at 170mph+ today and plan to live"
Kazakastan67 3 years ago 2
Well I for one am looking at stepping up to a liter bike to compensate for my weight. I'm 6" and 315#. I just don't get the same ride out of a 600 as a 5'8" 150# dude would.
And what if I'd like to carry someone? That 600 would be working entirely too hard. The liter engine makes up that difference for someone like myself.
Why is it that so many are hung up on the "you'll never use that power" crap? Fine, don't buy a liter bike. I'll make my own decisions for myself though, thank you very much.
DaedalEVE 3 years ago 2
That's fine for you, as it suits your needs well. However, for someone of smaller stature or weight, a bike with that much power on normal roads just isn't practical.
Oh, and @ batty46: Not all of us have a crystal ball that can tell you when you are going to crash so you can avoid any accidents in the future. For normal riders, anything can happen on the road when there are other drivers to contend with. Most people I know act respectable while on a bike, regardless of how much power it has.
TheReapersSon 3 years ago
Not everyone is looking for practicality. The only thing I can't condone is a brand new rider starting out on one. Other than that I say get what you want.
I'm not sure what this strange obsession is that some riders have with trying to preach how no one needs/should be riding this/that.
When I said I was getting rid of my SV650 and getting a larger bike I had people jumping down my throat telling me how I "haven't outgrown the SV". That's funny considering how none of them even knew me.
DaedalEVE 3 years ago
exactly what is the height and weight for this bike??...or is it, just the get on ride it
Vams9112 3 years ago
get on and ride it...don't worry about its size, its as small as a 600
wahthefck 3 years ago
Vams, the seat height is 820 mm (32.3 inches) and I've heard of guys well over 6' riding them just fine. I'd imagine anyone in the low 5' range or shorter would have a ha
