both inner and outer Mongolia used to be part of china, then the outer one got independent (former soviet union of course had involved in this)....it's a long history story. however no matter what nationality they've got, they are all mongolian, who live on endless grassland with their animals, singing khoomei, playing horse-headed fiddles...

Mongolian khoomii is spiritual. His technic is not well enough, but it is OK. If you want to see real choomii, go to Mongolian steppes, in Nomad family you can see real naturalisitic choomii. They will sing and ride their horses. Really awesome.

It's a combination of throat and overtone singing. I've been learning how for a while now, and it is quite difficult. A huge sign of someone who is very good, is how this guy can suppress the base tone until it's almost inaudible, and all you can hear is the whistling overtone. And he does it with his moth closed sometimes! amazing.
