I love the Moody Blues and the Blue Jays, I had this album years ago, I found it all scratched up from lots of use, I bought it at a thrift store for a dollar. The songs still bring tears to my eyes from pure bliss.
I still have the vinyl...I'm surprised only 10K people watched this. Maybe its because the Blue Jays are kind of unknown. Don't know but I used to listen to M.B. and Jays with my big headphones and get rid of any stress.
justin hayward was the moody blues if u get my drift some of the best songs written and vocals can make a grown man get misty over the angst he emotes scuse me sniff great song hard to find gem thanx 4 posting
Justin Hayward is so hot back then and no one knew, there was no MTV or youtube back then, so there was no way of knowing this guy was so cute, they would have been MUCH bigger then they were if there were MTV !!! His daughter is gorgeous too! He should have had tons of kids! ha! Not to mention he is sooo nice too!
@DreamPark9 I don't know if you are still listening....just saw your message and had to respond, your words were my thoughts exactly. Simply nothing comes close to The Moodys Blues, or The Beatles. Pure bliss.
Justin Hayward is an angel on earth! I am SO thankful he and John Lodge came to the Moody Blues and blessed that group with their prescence. They are BOTH wonderful men! May God bless them always!
We just left our son 3000 miles away from home at college in Oregon. He's the younger of our two children; our older child, a daughter, is in college at home here in Delaware. On the plane on the way home all I could think of was this song and I cried; it is so hard to let go and let them grow!
Great song! Thank you BlueOcean84! The Blue Jays also did a song called ''Cause You're Not Here'. I haven't heard it in probably thirty years. Do you possibly have it? Woodrow87
That song doesn't sound familiar and I thought I kept up with all moodies rarities :-) Sounds like lyrics from "Forever Autumn" though (a song Justin did for War of the Worlds). Could that be the one you're referring to?
"'Cos you're not here" is definitely from "Forever Autumn", it is repeated over and over in that song. It can be found on both Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds (the full version with Richard Burton's narration) or on "Time Traveller." The Moodies' 2005 live DVD has Justin doing a nice, intimate version. Or Tube it.
yes the song you are thinking of is ' forever autumn' from the musical version of 'war of the worlds' by jeff wayne ( originally released on vinyl in 1978 ) it's currently available on a hybrid SACD.. justin hayward does one other song on the' war of the worlds' LP titled 'the eve of war ' which will absolutely blow you away when you hear it
@luthierboy Probably too late.. (3 yrs LOL..) but what you are referring to is "Forever Autumn" Justin sang it on Jeff Wayne's musical version of War of the Worlds.
Thank you for putting this music on You Tube. This was one of my favorite albums of all times. Fabulous melodies and music. It still stands up to anything being written today.
Reminds me on my trips in the truck from Rotterdam to Le Havre or Rouen or Hamburg or any other trip, it keeps me awake to sing out loud with them, chicken skin, such a nice and moody music.
I know! This is one of my favorite songs from that album! When I made this, I must've listened to it like 1000 times (for timings, flow, etc), but I'm still not sick of it. Well, ok, maybe the day after I was haha.
BlueOceano84, you have been great to post this, if you want another idea, maybe "It's not on" from "Night Flight"? There are some great songs on it:))
That'd be a cool one.. with the fast and slow parts.. of course everyone wants songs that are over 5 minutes long haha. When I get the chance, I'll see what I can do with that one.
Out of this world!

The most seriously under-rated band of all time. These guys were shifting bucketloads of albums long before all the other prog rock bands.

Wow! Yeah, I'm sure many of us can relate to those lyrics. Maybe a little too much, but what a masterpiece. Great job on the video-slideshow!

How many songs does it take to listen to, to realize that the Moody Blues, other than the Beatles, are about the best band out there...*

I played the heck out of this record when it came out. This is by far the best Moodys "solo" record out there, but I actually like Mike Pinder's too.
