the object looked like it was burning,then stopped changed to a greyish colour similar to grey coloured nikel,then changed again to a silvery/chrome ish colour,it stayed suspended in mid air for a second or two then sped off in a different direction to what it was originally traveling,i was comeing thru eaglescliffe one night near the golf club two coppers stopped got out they car and were veiwing a formation of 5 i think in the night sky,other motorists also stopped to look at the objects

Im sorry but Chinese lanterns do not travel at light speeds, and they certainly dont have the intel to stop and wait for eachother to catch ones self up... and to follow the exact same pattern and flight course as the front runner, is a certain imposibility...those must be expensive lanterns...who did you get them off? The sightings of two orange flame like objects in the sky are real.Myself and my wife saw them over Ormesby at approximately 19:55 on Friday 31st October 2008.They were heading slowly west and seemed to merge into one maybe one was above the other.
They weren't travelling at light speeds, if you saw them dissapear they had probably burned out,and they are probably following the direction of the wind not flying in a deliberate formation, I hsve seen chinese lantens being set off before and these are definately them, not aliens.

Me and a friend had a sighting off the A19 on the way home, i'm not going to explain too much in detail as not many people would believe me anyway but it was definatley saucer shaped, this was only about 3 weeks ago now, maybe 4 , and i KNOW what i seen, it was damn close enough

i,m really glad that this has happened again !! as my partner and i had seen a large glowing light in the sky as we drove towards ormesby roundabout that was stationary above eston hills , we stopped the car as we couldn,t beleave what we where seeing ! we told a few people but they thought we were making it up etc,this happend about 12yrs ago before camera phones etc . the light we seen was huge and very very bright i think there was reports on the tv from other countys in europe too !

I beg to differ, though i couldnt rule your opinion out, it is a possibility, tho Lanterns dont follow eachother and stop and wait for one another to catch one up, also the sheer speeds in which they zoomed off are not possible for some lanterns...you would have to see them to know what i mean
Yes you could be right,but there was hardley any wind last Friday night, so the lantern I saw must of have had an engine,and the size of the flames in side the center would destroy any paper lantern still dosnt explain also the 6 or 7 orange lights on the outside of the circle, but i am open minded so thank you for your theory.
Hi I work at South Bank police office, 5 collagues and myself whilst on foot patrol witnessed a large orange orb last Friday 17th October at 7.45pm on Normanby Road South Bank it passed overhead of us,it had several small orange lights under it with the center of the orb appearing to be a mass of fire it made no noise and glided off towards Redcar
