I find it difficult to believe Kirk could take a vulcan undergoing pon farr. Vulcans are, generally, stronger than humans. Also, it is unlikely that their martial arts would suffer the effects of this state as their culture is ingrained with pursuit of education and skill building and honing. So, a skill that would be logically honed is a reflex knowledge of the more basic points of combat-- in case of emotional compromise. So, Kirk would lose... and end the show... luckily bones was thinking :)
