  • Can you tell us the ratios for the ingredients? Also, is there a difference between liquid glycerin and the solid ones you have in your video?

  • @nonacue

There is a difference between the liquid and solid. I don't give the ratio's,sorry. Just experiment with your own tastes, it's fun.

  • why do you make the base first, let it harden and then remelt it to add the other ingredients? Could you do everything in one sitting? Btw your soaps looks amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @natalytea Actually it is because I make 18 different scents and to pour in small batches like I do, I make the base in 20lb. batches and work the smaller ones from that.

  • I think it is so cute how they thank Pauli the goat! Awwww she gets credit too!

  • @SweetmadeCosmetics that makes sense! I was wondering how it turned into soap!! it looks so luxurious and decandent... I wouldn't just want to use her soaps to clean my skin but rest in that soapy water as well.

  • Could you almond milk or some other milk substitute instead of the goat's milk?

  • :o

I live like 30 minutes from Asheville. :)

  • made with love! Thank you for taking the time to do this video.. = )

  • excellent vid! I can't wait to try it out myself.

  • Don't tell my boss that I said this, but I listened very closely to what this lady said. I work for a number of cosmetic companies, and this lady has basically got it all worked out. She knows her stuff. In theory, she could rival the thinking of any famous quality brand. May she have great success - she deserves it.

  • @simontcm

You made my day!!!! Thanks for listening!

  • what is in vegitable glycerin base? mAlso, do we need lye and why? Does anybody know? Thanks

  • Hello everyone thanks for taking the time to look at my post. I started making soap when i was 16 and now 18 having a small business with my mother. I suffered through acne when i was younger which is why i began to make my own soap knowing all natural is better. We are not out to make a huge profit so there is no expense spared when making our soaps. Please visit our site, farmfreshhope thank you have a good day!

  • I'm just waiting for someone to ask " baby nappy diaper rash?".....

  • Mickey you are so awesome!

I'm having trouble finding vegetable based glycerin that resembles yours. Could you tell me where you buy it?

  • Mickey, you're such an inspiration. I just have one quick question. I received a bottle of pure glycerin it clear in color and liquid. Can the be used for the base or do i have to use the vegetable glycerin. If not when I use the vegetable glycerin can I add the liquid for added benefits? I look forward to your reply. thanks!

  • @FahionistaEsq

It cannot be used as a base and I really wouldn't add it to mine if it were me.

  • Hi, just wanted to know how much base you used for this batch. I see you cut it up but how much to start out with before you cut it?? I love you video. Thanks for sharing.

  • When I make soaps I do it over the stove too....but I do it the same way you make chocolate....in a pan over water....it works great!!!

  • I was going to ask the same about lye. You don't mention it in the video.

  • buy more homemade organinic soaps here

  • This process does not to be cured! The vitamin e is diluted with olive oil ! It should pure! cold process is so much better you can put so much better ingredients for better results!! And not a hater I'm just putting more info out there !!!

  • Hi I wanna know is it ok to add coconut oil and olive oil to glycerin soap?

  • @SuperUniverseQueen

    Yes, it is.

  • @HandmadeSoaps :D thank you!

  • @SuperUniverseQueen Of course you can! You can add any oil you want! I did it and it works perfectly! Trust me

  • @mreinstein48 :) Thank you for replying. I'm going to try it!!

  • Making natural soaps is a good way to cut costs and to do your part to go green. I love the way these soaps work and I also enjoy using soapnuts for washing clothes.

  • Hi, i think polly is really cute. My question is... is the glycerin base similar as the lye base. If not which is better, also do you have to purchase the glycerin base or can you make it?

  • @latonjawilson

It is all from lye in the beginning. lye and water with oil makes soap and glycerin.

  • It's not totally all natural handmade if you're starting out with a soap base. Nothing beats a good bar of all natural handmade soap.

  • @fenaocha apparently she's doing it. and selling her NOT real soap. hahahahaha, stop being a hater/

  • fab

  • @fenaocha It is real soap! I use a melt and pour base which already has the lye process done.

  • @HandmadeSoaps how do you make the first part and would oilve oil work better cause their is too much GMO oils so you have to be careful about that

  • I wonder what kind of places you can order or buy the basic ingredients to make the soaps?

  • @Crystalwolf78 NaturesGardenCandles [dot] com

  • Mrs. Ishikawa is not making soap correctly. She does not do saponification! She does not use sodium hydroxide! That is not how you make soap! She is doing melt and pour, not nourishing as cold process!

  • @fenaocha

I do use a good melt and pour base to begin my process. It is a high quality soap I create. There are many ways to make a good quality soap.

  • How can I have the autorization/certificate for sell the soaps on line and stores? Let me know please!

  • @snoopyandtobyforever

I went to a lawyer, became a corp., I am insured.

  • @HandmadeSoaps Thank you so much!

  • @snoopyandtobyforever One more question please. You make soaps with glycerine bases and my question is: If I buy glycerine liquid woks good as a glycerine bases ? I m asking because liquids I think is easy for starting making soaps. Let me know please. Thank you!

  • How can I add lather to my soap, I got glycerin base and added allm your ingredients but not much lather

  • @piricote93

you have to play with your recipe, read up on what creates lather and add more.

  • so you don't use lye? i thought you need lie to make soap. and was wondering if you could tell us the measurements u use to make this soap or is that secret?

  • @221SuperMario I don't give measurements.

  • @221SuperMario Technically the base she starts with you know the stuff you saw her cutting up is already soap. The place she orders it from does the lye process for her and she just adds the moisturizing oils fragrances and stuff to it to make it her own. there are 17,623 websites and counting that will give you measurements. Her method is called "Melt and Pour" and there are a ton of videos on youtube about it.

  • Could oil of oregano replace the grapefruit seed oil? I've used oregano oil for colds and sore throats as well, just a drop in a glass of water or under the tongue, terrible stuff but it gets the job done.

  • @brastrap27

It can be used topically so you should give it a try.

  • @brastrap27 does oregano oil have a very strong aroma?

  • @MarcoTUV I don't recall, trust me, you remember the taste more than the smell but both are distinctive.

  • @brastrap27 true the taste is great and very distintive, it´s interesting your question about using oregano oil because Christian Dior´s Farenheit for men (classic) is actually made from oregano leaves and that lotion/eau de toilete have a wonderful dry aroma

  • Actually, palm kernel oil is different from palm fruit oil. Palm kernel is similar to coconut (adds lather), whereas palm fruit oil adds hardness. :)

  • If you're using a melt and pour base why does it have to cure for 8 or more weeks before you can add your scent and color?

  • @sherryk70

Because my process calls for more moisturizing ingredients added to the base and it needs to cure a little longer before the color, exfoliate and essential oils are added.

  • how do you spell tomano oil? is that right...

  • @zozieba

    tamanu oil

  • @HandmadeSoaps Thanks!!

  • She has beautiful skin, I would def use her products...Thank you Mikey ;)

  • @SuperSpooky99 well, she went far with this home made! dude, what did you do on this topic ? she atleast does this :)

  • This is a great video, thanks for posting it.

  • i didnt know making soap was so difficult.

  • Great vid ! I want to have a soap homebsased business but im wondering if they will let me have one working with lye in the home ?

  • Are you using just plain solid vegetable glycerin. Or a vegetable glycerin soap base with lye in it? My sister is allergic to lye and I wanted to know if you put that in your soaps.

  • @nmayangicooks

Lye is the beginning process for all soap. Glycerin is the bi-product of saponification of lye, water and oils. The oils are vegetable and the only animal in my soaps is from the goatsmilk.

  • @HandmadeSoaps You still really haven't answered her question.. are you using vegetable glycerin or vege glycerin soap base. Thanks

  • @nmayangicooks

I use a veg. glycerine soap base.

  • @nmayangicooks Sweetheart it is impossible to make any kind of soap without lye, one does not exhist without the other. What your sister is reacting to, is not the lye itself, unless she was using a soap that was not properly cured. There are alot of people who think they are allergic to lye because of the condition of the soap when used, ie: not cured, irritating fragrance oils, or a reaction to some other additive. Im not just making this up hun, Im an RN with horrible skin sensitivities.

  • @nmayangicooks the vegetable glycerin that can be purchased that is not in a premade soap base, like here, is most often in a clear liquid or slight gel form, and is produced by chemically removing it from soap, usually commercially made soap. Glycerin is produced when lye and fats are combined and saponify. Saponification is the chemical reaction that occurs and makes soap from those two things. Glycerin is produced during the process. Hope this is helpful. Feel free to write with questions. =)

  • hand made soaps seem healthier, im going to try it :)

  • thank you soooo much

  • well plz rply to question also pls what i askd what measrment of butter and oils thank you

  • well plz rply to question also pls what i askd what measrment of butter and oils thank you

  • @SuperZainabkhan you can find recipes online for different types of soap. I don't give out the exact amounts on my products. Try different recipes until you find the one that suits you. Thanks

  • hey and plz tel me what what spices i can add for very good fregrenc

  • hello that realy nice plz tel me what megerment are the ingredients and can i put perfum in it after the basic it complet

  • ha! i went to your side and your tagline is cute.

  • Thanks! I hope you will visit my handmade soaps channel, rate my videos and subscribe.

  • I think you have a great idea in the way you make your soap. If someone is afraid of working with lye this might be a good way for them to make soap too.. Keep up the good work and may God Bless you business.

  • Totally is not a word I used. I take a simple all natural base and begin there with more great ingredients added after that than you will find in any soap.

  • hmmm.... this part is confusing to me? why does the soap need to cure if it's melt and pour? i thought only cold process soap needed to cure to finish out the chemical reaction. it doesn't seem like there would be a chemical reaction in this process... just melting. does that kind of make sense, or am i misunderstanding it?

  • the curing time that i give my soap is because of the ingredients that I add. it isn't to finish out a chemical reaction. Adding the amount of great moisturizing ingredients and goatsmilk makes a better soap if it is allowed to cure again. it is like making it from the beginning all over again.

  • i have a question: is it possible to make soap without lye?

  • No, it isn't. Not anyway that I am aware of. Let me know if you run across one.

  • where can I fin all vegan glycerine base? Thanks for your time :)

  • The pot does sit in the water in another pan but even if it were in a double boiler it still helps to evenly distribute the heat.

  • Ok wait she put the pot in a "water bath" but really that pot is setting on top of the other pot so the bottom is touching metal to metal and not in a water bath. Am i right or is it just me? I dont understand the point of the water bath,

  • Very, very nice video! Can't wait ot check out your website!
