From what I'm hearing Protos has the most passive music of the three races. The best for thinking though. While terran makes the combat look cool with the rock sections of their theme, and zerg music twists you to insanity, (and rage quit for an unfortunate few). I'll probably play protoss as a relazing break from the other races.
lol the zerg and protoss music are such trash compared to the terran tracks. They should just have an option to hear the terran music no matter what race you play.
@Shawsh2143 It's Khalani, the language Protoss use to communicate amongst eachother. As far as I know it's a language invented by Blizzard. I happen to like protoss so what's wrong bout kowing a little lore about them?
the mothership is like bascally like a giant umbrella. Except people tend to focus fire on it because it's the only proper target they can see, and then the mothership is destroyed and you can see everything underneath the umbrella and you're like HOLY SON OF A------!!!
I don't see what is holding the Protoss back when they can just make an army of about 50 void rays and sweep all who stand in their way. OP void rays are OP.
@Smorfty just being my starcraft fan self. plenty other people on this comments page doin the same thing. and freedom to type what i felt like typing. just sayin.
@Smorfty I heard my life for hire, thinking they were a race of mercenary warriors. If you take a step back and think of the Protoss without any background knowledge at all, it makes sense
@Christoppher1994 I didn't know the Protoss fight for money rather than honor/glory. I though that only Terran (human) would fight for money, greed, and corruption.
@Fuduwahluz : The Nexus creates a large Warp Rift above itself, just like Probes open Warp Rifts when opening portals to bring structures through. Although when Mothership is concerned, the Rift is even greater than most of the Protoss structures.
@Fuduwahluz well... kind of. I'm going with game-play style, meaning that the nexus produces the mothership. However i personalyl think that stargates should be used.
@roosterflu77 Too bad it ends up playing right in the heat of the battle for me. Actually protoss theme never matches to what i do on the screen when i play. THe beginning is quite bombastic with choirs when i'm just starting my base (see part 1) and than slows down when i'm fighting.
@Parisoldiers : Sure it seems a little odd, unless you think that it is the Protoss that sing theirselves with their own minds, creating human-like sound. Or it could be that the Protoss' voices merely sound humanly to us, since that is the most logical thing for human mind to do, for human mind to understand.
This music only lacks imagination and power. Whenever I compare it with the original score of SC1 I want to burst into tears. Thanks for the upload anyway.
The music reflects on the devastation of Aiur, and the rebirth of the enitre Protoss race as a whole. And like every other civilization, they evolved both physically and mechanically as well as psionically.
@BlackWing142 : Now those are nice variations to see, Fenix and Zeratul. Good that someone remembers to honor them as well, for their part in the history of the Protoss was not a minor, neither.
@osufitchi The point I was trying to make is that it's not appropriate in Protoss terms for one to say En Taro ______ unless the person has passed on.
En Taro Tassadar, brother. I thought that En Taro... translates merely into "In the honor (or name) of ...", therefore having nothing to do with passing on, yet it appears that I have been wrong.
I wonder if you could tell me where did you learn of these Protoss terms, for I'm anxious to find out about them, myself, as well.
@TheTwilightUnicorn It's something I've noticed for quite some time playing Starcraft 1 & 2. There are just some things you pick up on naturally as you play the games, other things require deep study of Starcraft lore. If I find an exact translation or meaning of "En Taro ______", I'll let you know. But in general, the Protoss name in that phrase is one who passed on and who had great importance to the Protoss race.
True enough. Although no need to find the exact translation, for if you read this StarCraft short story, Shadow of Xel' Naga, there is "En Taro Adun", which is described in the book's pages to be "In honour of Adun" or "In the name of Adun".
It is from there that I learned what it translates to, yet I didn't realize that indeed the name used in "En Taro..." is always a passed on person's name. You have my gratitude for pointing it out for me.
@BlackWing142 Rebirth pfft! They should mount an invasion to take bake Aiur. It should be really easy with just uncontrolled mindless zerg as their only obstacle but they don't seem to be doing anything atm.
@Smorfty A hope for rebirth would be more proper term. I hope Blizz will make a damn epic Protoss campaign in the third chapter of SC2..... Wings of Liberty was nice but imho inferior to the SC1's terran ones.
To all the people who are whining, the Protoss Campaign doesn't even come out for another couple of years at least. I'm sure they'll have some new themes by that point.
@Illidan360 I don't know what Blizzard's real reason is, but the in-universe explanation for "no more Arbiters" is that all Arbiters were exclusively Judicator-caste vessels, and by now in the story, the Judicator caste are all dead.
thanks for uploading, but this actually isn't the protoss theme... this is one of the songs that plays when you log into battle.net on sc2 (if you stay on bnet long enough, it will start playing that other track, the one that's like 7 minutes and sounds real epic)
@Yoshi17th Do you have that one that last for seven minutes. Your right. I don't feel enlighted superiorly on this other songs. If you have it, great. Upload it on YouTube for a big hit. For Ior. LOL.
@kstalt actually the entire dominion and every human from the sector they are in was actually a whole bunch of prisoners that they were going to transport to a new planet prison and start colonies on new planets in that area but the ship's navagational computer went haywire and sent them into a unknown galaxy the human priosoners sent up colonies in the 3 planets i think that they crash landed on thus finding the confederacy which got overpowered and had to be over thrown by the sons of korhal
This new protoss music is a lot different than the old, but I guess that makes sense, as the Protoss are now in a fight for survival, rather than being the big kids on the block.
En Taro Adun! This soundtrack is awesome! ^^ It almost sounds like it could fit in a Starcraft movie there you'll see the mystic protoss and somehow with the music you feel what they feel...
I think both zerg and protoss music in sc2 are bit disappointing. Terran has just great music that really sets you to battle mood, but protoss songs are mostly too quiet and lack excitement and zerg music fits zerg nicely but it's not soundtrack stuff. If I would listen whole ost I'd end up skipping zerg and protoss music completely.
@currynator Well at least the protoss songs get the ambiance right. As for the terran tracks......to be honest the terran tracks aren't that goood either, especially with the (very annoying) country style popping out from time to time in the musical line. Terrans aren't supposed to be exiled space convicts not space rednecks.
@kstalt to be honest they had the accent in the cutscenes but most of the units ingame didn't sound hick (wraith, medic, firebat, goliath, battlecruiser, valkyrie, ghost) and certainly the redneck accent didn't bother anyone. In SC2 however they just rolled with it and now almost everyone sounds like they are from Alabama (let's not mention Schwarzenegger drives the Thor) and they sound awful. The accent from SC1 didn't bother me but this one just rips through my ears.
@EBTcraft15 In SC, my take on it was that the lower grunts, "Marines, firebats, etc." Were uneducated criminals while the other units had sure signs of some form of an education... Perhaps there may be a reason in SC2's storyline as to why they all sound hick?
I wasn't really into the story enough to purchase any of the starcraft novels, so I could be wrong on so many levels, but I get the feeling Raynor scrounged up a band of yokals to train. xD
@Smorfty Well that was a good guess on my behalf then, it's been a really long time since I played the Starcraft campaign. I had always assumed that some of the higher tech units had to be more educated, unless they were just trained to do what they do and that's it.
@Smorfty Firebats, in the Starcraft II in game description said, that they were almost exclusively criminals or deranged pyromaniacs. Because the suits had tendencies to release the flamable gas fumes into the suit and that in turn made the Firebat suit prone to accidental combustion. But Mauraders don't have that problem and only 40%-60% of them have been in the criminal system.
@Smorfty also firebats aperently go insane and become pyromaniacal arsonists and murderers because of tehir suits not sealing off the chemicals in their flamethrowers and 53% of marauders are also ex-cons like marines and reapers.
Err... Dont blame me but I practically read everything in the campaigns. marauders are rarely convicts? it even says their suits are air conditioned o.o
@Smorfty also firebats aperently go insane and become pyromaniacal arsonists and murderers because of their suits not sealing off the chemicals in their flamethrowers and 53% of marauders are also ex-cons like marines and reapers.
@kstalt you are perfectly right! In SC2 you will be controliing a band of ragtag mercenaries grouped up by rainer each with his little dark background in order to fight the dominion and most missions will be just skirmishes and jobs done for the highest bidder, thus the whole character of the campaign fits the chosen music style very well....
@Dantriblackheart aha....you may have a point but let's do an experiment. Look on youtube for "Emperor: Battle for Dune Music - Dark Alliance", ignore the anime pics and listen the entire song and imagine that was the theme for the Terran dominion. A lot better than the country music i reckon.

@EBTcraft15 Any Terran cutscene will counter that statement. They sound pretty hick.
Looks like you mashed some poor feller's dog, Sarge...
It's a zerglin' Lester, A smaller type o' zerg...

I wasn't really into the story enough to purchase any of the starcraft novels, so I could be wrong on so many levels, but I get the feeling Raynor scrounged up a band of yokals to train. xD
Could be wrong about that too, I didn't beta

@kstalt It's been mentioned that marines and reapers are ex convicts and the SCVs are colonists. Nothing about the other units though.

@Smorfty Well that was a good guess on my behalf then, it's been a really long time since I played the Starcraft campaign. I had always assumed that some of the higher tech units had to be more educated, unless they were just trained to do what they do and that's it.
kstalt 1 year ago
@Smorfty Marauder's are only convicts 47% of the time!
Zeracan 1 year ago

@DREADTHORN
Err... Dont blame me but I practically read everything in the campaigns. marauders are rarely convicts? it even says their suits are air conditioned o.o

@Boromir26 Sweet!!! I had a small fear that it would end up to be just the exact opposite just to spite me after typing that. xD

@kstalt I have most of the books.
Marines are 99% criminals who go through lobotomy's to brain wash them.
ProjectRemix45 1 year ago
@ProjectRemix45 That really changes the way I look at the Terran. How many books are there? That's pretty interesting stuff
kstalt 1 year ago
@kstalt In the campaign, they're all colonial rebels. I imagine all the brightest people are safely in the Dominion's cities.

@EBTcraft15 You are so right about the terran music... it failed utterly to capture the same atmosphere as the original terran themes
KakuKachoO 1 year ago
@EBTcraft15 the country style is part of the terran theme.
Imaging a group of marines running in the desert.
So to me it does make sence.
Dantriblackheart 1 year ago
@Dantriblackheart aha....you may have a point but let's do an experiment. Look on youtube for "Emperor: Battle for Dune Music - Dark Alliance", ignore the anime pics and listen the entire song and imagine that was the theme for the Terran dominion. A lot better than the country music i reckon.
