I remember the first Maxima in our family which was a 94 SE 5 speed, power seat, sunroof, leather, rear spoiler, LSD, and that Bose sound system WOOOOW was it a great car, sold it years back and i still see it running to this day cant kill a Nissan!

in 97 it was a good sound system!! what can u expect.....things progress and things get better with every year...its been 14 years since that stereo was let out..

True. My stereo is still stock, but it sounds great even in 2009!

everything in my 95's bose stereo is old but the bose literaly sounds like it just came from the factory.

At 0:15, it shows the air system controls. On the left of temperature display, there appears to be temp control? In my car, the temp controls are a blue button for cool air and yellow for hot. When did they change in the luxury editions?

Also, the stock radio is great, but mine started acting funny after 2004 and died (with the exception of the actual radio working: cd player and tape deck stoppped)and I just got it replaced.

For 1998 Nissan redesigned the climate control. The up and down temp. controls were moved to beneath the display and the auto/econ/off buttons were moved to the left of the display.

I learned that that would only apply for 1998. I have a 1997 GLE.

haha yeah my '97 SE has climate control with the leather/sunroof package. It's just a little bit different though, nothing overwhelming

engine is overrated... everyone i talk to claims that maxima is fast... i drive one with a 5spd and i could say that performance does not "wow" me...

Really? 1997 Maxima's are pretty cool to drive. I have had mine since 1998. Never gets old. Great engines, those VQ's.

Indeed, I still have just the stock Bose system in it and its still sounds great, Bose makes for good audio.

I have a 1999 Infiniti I30 and after I bought I replaced the Bose system with an Alpine MP3 CD deck because I wanted an MP3 CD Player. I was really disappointed with the sound quality. A year later I came to my senses and got my original Bose deck installed again for free. The difference was incredible with booming bass, higher treble and everything felt perfect.
