  • looks pretty good

  • I totally have no idea why people 3D Max and Maya is way better, you know, though most people working in film and gaming industries use those 2 softwares but for beginners, C4d is the best to start with as it is simpler and quicker.

People with skills can use every software, those without skills can do nothing out of the best software given.

  • @HeartLocker actually its at the point now where the software is personal preference, they can all do what the others can do, they can all use the same render engines therfore the outcome is the same in each application. Whichever you use is just getting there, and theyre all the same. If someone can use c4d, that person can then use maya, they are practically the same, its just set out differently. and vice versa.

  • @bigdanny1234 Except for modeling tools Danny, somethings in Cinema 4d are RIDICULOUSLY harder than they are in Modo or Max to model. Cinema 4d is amazing for animation, broadcast graphics, even rigging and animating. It's also great for beginners because of it's intuitive UI and easy to learn workflow, on the flip side it's great for advanced users too. Which is why the price is the same as it is for maya/max.

  • @TeemATM If a CG artist is any good, they can use any program to do their work, its all about the artist, not the tools. And yeah there are benefits in each different package, I'm not trying to start a war between CG artists here, I use all three, max, cinema and maya. but when it comes to getting a job done quickly with style, C4D is the way to go, and if you want to go further into the details then, use maya or 3DS. or just export from any of these into a sculpting program.

  • @bigdanny1234 I agree, I use Modo, Max, Rhino, AND Cinema 4d at work. Mostly Cinema 4d. I usually set up all the navigation to be just like Cinema 4d since I spend more time in that. Modo 501 was just released and it is a great modeling tool, they used it for some of the mechanical CGI in Avatar, and it's cheap (compared to the others). Anyways it has new sculpting functionality that's a lot like zbrush, check it out.

  • can you make a tutorial please??

  • Looks amazing! Could you maybe make a tutorial of it? Or put up your scene somewhere?

  • Way cool! Here's some wave action I did in C4D r8.0.
