Did anyone know that this song actually debuted in a 1990 movie called "Welcome Home Roxy Carmichael" with Winona Ryder, Jeff Daniels, and hotass Thomas Wilson Brown?
yes, it was actually called "in roxie's eyes" and the title character became famous for being the subject of the song, and became wealthy from the royalties. when the song was played in the movie, the radio dj introduced it as melissa etheridge's "rendition" of the famous song.
