''101 for Japan -Message of Heart Connection-'' I have gathered messages from friends from 101 different countries and regions in the world with my strong wish to share the warm voices of the world with people in Japan. Here is the video clip I created – 101 for Japan.
Beijing Language and Culture University, where I currently study, consists of fellow students from more than 170 countries and regions all over the world. It is like a reflection of the 'world.' Upon the tragedy of the earthquake in Japan on March 11th, friends of mine at the university have conveyed warm encouragement with me since I am from Japan over time.
I felt their sincere care not only towards my family and friends in Japan but also towards those people who live in the damaged areas. Fortunately, my family in Tokyo and my close friends did not get a serious damage from the earthquake. Nevertheless, as a Japanese, I was very much moved by the encouragement from my friends because I realized the tremendous care they had toward Japan.
Ever since the earthquake, I had questioned to myself, 'How can I stand up and take action for Japan?' Even though I am a mere student without any influential social status, I could not be just an observant given that anybody on earth could have been there in Japan when the earthquake occurred, including myself. With such a feeling, in May, I started to create this video clip in order to fulfill whatever I could do from wherever I was.
This video clip shows the strong bond between Japan and the rest of the world on very personal levels. A lot of people shared their messages in their own languages respectively and you may not understand everything. However, I hope you will feel their warm messages from their voice and smiles. I am sincerely praying for good health and happiness of the people in the damaged areas in Japan, and for the quick recovery of those areas.
