It does seem to be a bit of a dumb idea. Giving a soldier/officer the ability to see around a corner without exposure is always good. A camera has a far better chance not to be noticed than a head or elbow.This just tries to take it a bit further by giving them the capability to engage. The only situation that would be of any use is a single, stationary target. Frankly a simple flexible camera, or pair of cameras alone would be less noticable and give info on how best to enter the situation.

The idea isn't new, the Germans had the "krummlauf attachment" in WWII which allowed a gun to shoot round a corner, OK it didn't have a camera, just a mirror, but it did a very similar job.

The gun is used for terrorist operation and close quarters warfare. This isn't call of duty, close quarters is around 150m or less and believe it or not, shotguns go more than three metres in real life. In such terrorist operations there are HOSTAGES so NO you can't blindfire you idiots. Also i'd much rather lose my replaceable gun attachment than my hand or head. The soldiers using it would be for more apt than the TV presenter and I'm sure it would be built to be as durable as the gun itself.

Only a needs remote sighting device is needed. A 3D sighting system using the same basic idea is all one needs given the extra time. The camera type sights could generate a full room image to the command position if needed even in the infrared. Heck, the sights need not even be on the gun(sorry weapon). The uses for keeping us(WE THE PEOPLE!) slaves controlled is endless. Oh,I'm sorry, the Second Amendment says my little pea shooter protects me from that so, I'm not worried. !GET UP STAND UP!

You're thinking that this should be used in warfare, but it isn't built that way. Its used for operations against terrorist factions or other small operations.
