When I watched the cutscene that had Snake and Big Boss with this music playing, I just had to cry, due to what Big Boss did even after Snake fought him twice in the past.

Compared to this masterpiece, Halo sucks hairy balls! Halo is nowhere near as emotion suspending or as well layed out as MGS4. Hell, even Portable Ops (which I think is the weakest in the series but still pretty amazing) is better than Halo Reach. This is coming from a neutral bystander who is lucky enough to own all the MGS games and unlucky enough to have played Halo before.

In 2014, everybody should go to Arlington National Cemetery to salute to Big Boss's. The Boss's, and Solid Snake's grave. The gravestones WILL be there.
The entire point of MGS was to show how the military operates and how they are uses by politician to further their careers. It show what a solider is, and what they think of the political landscape of their states, and the world. In essence it show the solider point of view of every war, not the bs propaganda you hear from politician.
Metal Gear Solid has a lot of messages... I love how they present them. It isn't just a war game. Even though Snake partakes in stealth, and, in MGS4, some active combat on a battlefield (If you choose to), its a stealthy game. I don't know how, but Kojima was able to give the story more meaning by doing that... Kojima truly is a master at this.
Snake's mentor was Big Boss. He gave him missions, thought him techniques and gave him knowledge. Big Boss's life was ended by the hands of Solid Snake....Just like the relationship Between Big Boss and The Boss
This game, is more than a game! i can't explain, no one can explain that, this just makes your emotions stir up, you can feel anger, sadness, this game lives and make you feel living, Metal Gear is one another living world. and you'll just get amused from those character's lifelikely! this isn't a game, this is an ultimate experience to another world.

I'm a man and I cried with pride during MGS4 in several parts, most notably when Psycho Mantis appeared for one last time; when Raiden saves Snake and "dies" the same way that Frank Jaeger a.k.a. Gray Fox died as well, and last but definitively not least, when it seemed that Snake actually committed suicide at the end, but he didn't and then came the most emotionally wrenching part of the game for me...and that is seeing the scene with Big Boss and Snake one last time. "This is good,isn't it?"

I think this scene is SO symbolic. Big boss, the first one to give Snake a gun and assigned the first missions to him.......is now the one that takes the gun away and tells Snake to live the rest of his life in peace.

The entire point of MGS was to show how the military operates and how they are uses by politician to further their careers. It show what a solider is, and what they think of the political landscape of their states, and the world. In essence it show the solider point of view of every war, not the bs propaganda you hear from politician.

Metal Gear Solid has a lot of messages... I love how they present them. It isn't just a war game. Even though Snake partakes in stealth, and, in MGS4, some active combat on a battlefield (If you choose to), its a stealthy game. I don't know how, but Kojima was able to give the story more meaning by doing that... Kojima truly is a master at this.

Snake's mentor was Big Boss. He gave him missions, thought him techniques and gave him knowledge. Big Boss's life was ended by the hands of Solid Snake....Just like the relationship Between Big Boss and The Boss

This game, is more than a game! i can't explain, no one can explain that, this just makes your emotions stir up, you can feel anger, sadness, this game lives and make you feel living, Metal Gear is one another living world. and you'll just get amused from those character's lifelikely! this isn't a game, this is an ultimate experience to another world.
that may heard weird, but that's the first and probably the last game, that made me cry over 3 times. thumbs up if you agree!

I'm playing metal gear games now over 9 years, and I still can't explain what this games means to me! But, I know one thing, I'm honored cause I played this game, and I feel sorry for those who hasn't!

I'm a man and I cried with pride during MGS4 in several parts, most notably when Psycho Mantis appeared for one last time; when Raiden saves Snake and "dies" the same way that Frank Jaeger a.k.a. Gray Fox died as well, and last but definitively not least, when it seemed that Snake actually committed suicide at the end, but he didn't and then came the most emotionally wrenching part of the game for me...and that is seeing the scene with Big Boss and Snake one last time. "This is good,isn't it?"

@BBR1394 For real i was nooo don't commit suicide snake. When big boss finally understand what the boss said to him 50 year before, and died shortly after i was like most powerful cut scene ever. Beat every game i played; MGS it in a class of it own.

@jackisarocknroll Yeah, I know. MGS is undoubtedly the greateast videogame franchise of all-time. It's something that can't be replicated, remade or duplicated. It's something special, that will always live on forever. And this series, and everything it has accomplished and created in us, can't be recreated or fit into any other media or adaption. Kudos to Hideo Kojima. He brought MGS into this world, our world. And we should grateful for it--for there isn't anything like MGS. :)

i just recently finished the game -
after all of these times i thought he was dead, Big Boss comes back to tell Snake to stop one of the only things he knows how to do... killing.

I think this scene is SO symbolic. Big boss, the first one to give Snake a gun and assigned the first missions to him.......is now the one that takes the gun away and tells Snake to live the rest of his life in peace.
This scene.....made me realise that this is the BEST game i have played in my entire life =)
Gotta play this again soon....it's been to long since last time.......

I ussed to say that only fun games would be the best and every few months my mind would change and a new game would become the best. MGS is the best and I mean it.
