Any one have any imput??

  • @thundermaster41 For them, it was a way to cope with ever increasing fame and all the pressure that came with it...

  • it's about faggots you imbeciles!!!

  • maxzoloft,

It takes one to know one?

  • and proud of it....yeah NOT!!

  • I remember when Johnny Carson came out and did Rhinestone Cowboy. About 1975 when I was in college. Very funny. He fell off the donkey.

  • the man was a genieus giv him a break fuk

  • Does anyone remember when Johnny Carson rode out on a donkey and sang Rhinestone Cowboy?

  • so this is about belt buckles??

    haha

  • the song is really good, but if the lyrics really seem sad. Yay glen campbell!

  • Heard that he got picked up for drunk driving a couple(?) of years ago, and sang this song in his jail cell.

  • When Glen was picked up by the cops he was out of his mind on speed! He used to like a little whizz you know!

    Bloody great song this!

  • would love you glen campbell fans to comment on my version - should I give up LOL

  • Just heard it on tv and must find it here and added to my favourites. When this song came out I was zero years old :-). Well, I was born on 1976, hehe. Really great song. Thanks for sharing with us!

  • 1975... Rhinestone Cowboy ?? Wow. That's a wake-up call. 34 years ago. Feels like 7 years ago. let's get off u-tube and joy the real world. Before you know it I will be in a retirement home wathing this video here again..... Glen Cambell RULES !!!

  • I didnt even know there was a video promo clip for this song. This is very cool! :)

  • DAVID ALLAN COE is the real rhinestone cowboy

  • no u r

  • I´ve been walkin these streets so long, singin the same old song, i know every crack in these dirty sidewalks of love way. Where heartache´s the name of the game and weak hearts get washed away like the snow and the rain. There´s been a load of compromisin on the road to my horizon, but i´m gonna be where love is shinin on me....

lol sorry that´s my *love* version of the song :D :D

  • Beautiful horse. And a great song too.

  • I was about 4 when this song came out, my mother had it on record. I guess by time I was about 5. I loved it. Went years and years without hearing it.

  • aww, it just came in the radio and I had to search for it *-*

  • This is why I love the Seventies!

  • Actually, the correct answer is President Benjamin Harrison for people claiming to be 118 years old in human years. And Social Security did not exist prior to 1937. You teenagers do have a good day.

  • What a song. My late father loved this and i'm glad to say I love it too. Brilliant tune! It's about being free and dreaming, thing we don't have enough of today.

  • great song! great era!

  • Same age in doggie years.

  • This song gives a sense of true nostalgia, both in its simple musical beauty and its lyrical documentary of an era gone by, e.g., cards & letters & the phone as THE ONLY method of contact. Not 2 mention a work ethic that kept us pushin' ahead despite a load of compromisin'. Gotta love the fashion too - jumbo sized belts & buckles, oversized shirt collars & cuffs, wide watch bands. suppose if we could see his pant bottoms they'd be bell shaped.

  • Great song. It reminds me of my original song called: Where I Belong! By Vince Ravon. Check it out on youtube!

    Best Wishes, Vince Ravon.

  • I miss the real feeling that musicians had back then. He knows what he is on about. Today you get twenty year olders singing as if they had the life experience of a 50 year old. It is fake , the music don't last. Ok you get the occasional decent musician , eg David Gray , etc , but The gobbshite you get today! Poor generation!

  • I've loved this song forever.

  • David Hasselhoff´s coverversion is more powerful.

  • 0:00 to 0:02 Wtf?

  • ET is trying to contact you!

  • Lolol, :D

  • that's Late night Confessions' sorry:-)

  • shyalanar82 - - wrong - this is nothing like redneck song..its about 'living the dream' and glen campell is one of the best vocalists ever.

  • can someone upload 'Night night confessions' please...;-)

  • So many old people commenting here. =] This song came out 17 years before I was born, but it's still an amazing song.

  • 0:24 to 0:34: reminds me 'The Sound Of Silence' by Simon & Garfunkel. :)

  • You guys think you're old because you were born in 1970? I was in Junior High that year!

  • Hmmm...At a minimum, that would make you at least 118 in human years...Quite frank, my psychic powers tell me you're barely 9,494 days old.

  • I am also the same age as you!

  • sorry but I think your full of IT 118 I think not. I would belive 11 or 18 but not 118 If you are that old who was the pres when you were born no forget that what was your s s # 001

  • I would be respeciful Mr Shigechiyo Izumi or Mrs. Davis was born December 24, 1881, in Hancock County, GA OR Li Cairong, a 118-year-old woman born in Yinkeng Village, Foshan, in Guangdong Province I belive your not 118 or anyone of these people

  • MY bad you could be 118-year-old Heller Ehrman

  • I was born on 1970,,Don't know why I woke up thinking about this song.. But Country music just get's better and better.

  • woo hoo Glen! That's some funny clip! No one sings on a horse! Talented guy.

  • Wow, I'm old. lol. This was the #1 song when I was born. When country was COUNTRY!

  • true redneck song

  • Dear hbotis, Those that can appreciate this R a little long in the tooth, but U R right, this does not exist any more and we R poorer 4 it.

  • Deliriously hokey but brilliant. Love this song. You don't get things like this anymore.LOL.

  • I was about 9 years old when this came out and it was such a great song then and now. Glenn Campbell was one of the best singers of all-time.

  • I can remember my dad playing this when I was a whippersnapper on one of thoes record players in what was like a coffin. I was born the year this come out.

  • cool!!!!!!!

  • me and my friend chris sing dis song in a high voice in skool

  • I have been a Glen Campbell fan for 40 yrs! still love him!

  • When I was a kid, we never missed his show...especially since (according to my Mom, anyway) she is distantly related to him through her maternal grandmother (who was a Campbell)..,

As for me, I didn't mind watching the show because I *loved* his voice...

  • Wypas poprostu wypas !! PL

  • omg! most deffinately my favorite song!

  • 5 stars every time, what a classic!!! Love it :D

  • I was 10 when this song hit. #2 pop song of 1975 according to Billboard's Hot 100 Chart.

  • Actually, "Rhinestone Cowboy" spent two weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, from September 6 to September 20, 1975.

  • Yes, I know it spent 2 weeks at #1. I said it was the #2 pop single of the YEAR.

  • omg.. they played this at my prom. :)

  • with a subway token and a dollar tucked in my shoe.

  • cool...but this was b4 my time...wasnt it?

  • as far as we know. LOL '75 hon.

  • child of '77!

  • We sang this in 6th Grade Music Class all the time

  • my dad bought the Album. it was a textured cover if i recall correctly. LOL

  • I Love this song, im only 13... country rox

  • we always make fun of the boys in my school who wear their rinestone belts like us girls! :)

  • Me too, A memory of childhood that I love :)

  • The subject matter is a bit funny, but you have to admit it, as a song it's unbeatable. A classic country song if I ever saw one.

  • its funny that people are calling it gay when the word gay meant happy back then - i dont think this had any gay conotations whatsoever - its a great song regardless. for me it just reminds me of my childhood

  • Lmfao funny ass song

  • Still one of the best country songs of all time.

  • Ahh... Nothing quite like a man and his horse... bliss

  • I do but its funny

  • So gay it went to #1, also think it was song of the year back around 1976 when it came out. May not sound so great now but 30 years ago it was the bomb

  • u must not be from Texas.

  • I first listen this song when I about 11 years old in Korea. I did not understand the lyric but love the tune so I had cassette tape and

recorded off the radio station on their 11 o'clock radio show.... that was 30 years ago...

  • sharabong,YEE-HA

  • this song is soo good!

  • great music

  • it was the 70's afterall

  • He was so big back then. Which is why I don't understand how he could have made such a cheap video. Looks like he did it on $50 bucks and one day of filming.

  • well remember they were not videos back then, just record company promo clips. No MTV or VH1 yet. They would show these on like the midnight special and don kirshners rock concert. Prob was made with 50 bucks in one day lol

  • GREAT MOVIE TOO..DRIVE IN'S RULE

  • Great music never goes away and this one will be about for a good while yet.

  • As a kid, I would end this song by saying "and girl".

  • Love this song since I was ten years old...

  • awesome love it great post 5big*****

  • Fantastic!

  • brilliant!!!!!!!! just love him to death...

  • In the beginning, looks like he's walking down the street by his house here in Arizona.

  • he really should learn to ride

  • hi class!

    i love this song!

    from dizzy heyes

  • this song brings back memories

  • i bet he sand a few of his tunes when he got that DUI in 04-05 in asshole Arpaio's jail here in Phx. Great singer/guitarist,remember his tunes playing on the radio in Africa, back in the 70's.

  • Great song. Still one of the best.

  • holy cow did I love this song as a kid!!! I used to drive my parents crazy singing this one all the time. Absolute classic.

  • Yeah russ your a no good hippie bludging of other people and bad mouthing those who work hard to make a life. Go fuck yourself you drugged up piece of shit.

  • He looks like a complete fool on that horse.

  • but he is just a rhinestone cowboy-not a real one.

    Listen to the song.

  • Great song about the struggle by songwriters and musicians to become successful.

  • I used to live in Phoenix from '90 to '04 and saw Glen several times on "Good Morning Arizona" news channel 3. He can still hit those high notes like nothing. I was only a kid when this song came out, but it still kicks.

  • Reminds me of my days in the US in 1975/1976.Very cool

  • GLEN CAMPBELL TRIVIA...Glenn had been a very sucessful sessions, studio guitar player in the music industry before he became famous. He played guitar on recordings for Frank Sinatra and other big stars. Another interesting bit of trivia is that he was one of the BEACH BOYS for a very short peroid of time and played the guitar intro part to "lets dance" (by the Beach boys). I saw him on TV not that long ago....he looks quite OLD but can still sing and play guitar very well.

  • Let's not kid ourselves. A rhinestone cowboy isn't a real cowboy.

  • This was the number 1 song for the entire year of 1975 out of the top 100.

  • Very cool -- they call it "vintage" now -- it's super hot now -- 1960's -- 1970's -- nothing can replace those years!

  • carry on tortured soul, glen. great music you've given us...

  • classic country music it got top ten in the UK

  • so is your mouth

  • like a rhinestone cowboi!

  • LOL!

  • Silvio's version of this song on the Gong Show is simply classic. Does anyone have it?

  • It was the mid 1970s. The term "music video" didn't even exist yet. Cut him some slack. Geez!

  • you have a dirty mind; stop making comments if you can't say anything nice

  • this is for you mk

  • Glenn's a skinny dude. I could take him in a street fight. Especially if he's wearing that prissy little white suit.

Just kidding. I love this song and Glenn's voice.

  • Glen is one of the best pop/country performers of the last 40 years. Incredible talent and still going strong at 72.

See Glen sing his August 2008 release of Green Day's "THE TIME OF YOUR LIFE" over on my channel.

  • was this his last big hit?

  • No, his last big crossover pop hit single was "Southern Nights", which hit # 1 on The Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in 1977. I believe his last big hit on the country singles chart was "She's Gone, Gone, Gone" in 1989.

  • mf doom's version of rhinestone cowboy is wayyy better...

  • glen campbell made real music-not like this crap that we are subjected to today

  • Well, sorry I was one year off, I asked my mother and I guess she miscaculated. Don't get so angry, it's only one year off.

  • What an incredible singer/songwriter he is. Such a beautiful man.

  • Yes he is a beautiful man, but he doesn't write the songs, he just makes the songs his own, that's why he is Glen Campbell.

  • Good point and his new album is proof of that. I can't get his version of "Times Like These" out of my head.

  • This song brings back sweet innocent memories of childhod. I love Glen Campbell. Thanks for posting

  • good

  • tkeitt43, Glen still sings but he doesn't go very far from his home now a days, He's 73 so he doesn't go out very far from home. He might be getting alls-timers(sp?). It's really sad, a legend like him getting older.

  • What are you talking about, he is 72 not 73,he just released a new record, and he is touring everywhere. He just played a sold out show at Doug Westons Troubadour in West Hollywood. please get your information correct before posting.

  • Glen Campbell is religious, him and his wife got baptized

  • Glen Campbell is not gay he has a wife and kids

  • It was '76

  • Actually, "Rhinestone Cowboy" came out and hit #1 in 1975 (though I'm not sure when this video clip was filmed).

  • This song owns.

  • Boy has fashion changed since the 70s! Nowadays a guy dressed in that garish red shirt he wears (01:40 - 01:47 is a good view of it) would probably be considered gay.

  • some midgets in the vid have been would be cool

  • One of my all-time favorite songs. Thank you.

  • what about mf doom^^

  • Wait a minute...isn't this song about a guy in New York City? Broadway, subway, etc..why didn't they film it in Times Square?

  • This song had Glenn Campbells name written all over it,what a classic>still sounds wonderful 30 years later..Remember Johnny Carson making a spoof of this???

  • OMG I LOVE THIS SONG

  • was this realesed in 1976 or 75? can,t remember but this certainly brings back memo,s

and also great to hear words in song not like the crap these days

  • 1975. It spent two weeks at # 1 on The Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in September of 1975.
