Clint would never mention that her husband was gay, because he wanted to make it sound like she was committing adultery, which she wasn't because she never even had sex with her husband; it was on paper only from the very beginning.

@smplusjb According to Richard Schickel's biography of C.E., he did ask Locke for her hand in marriage and she declined. Take it as you will.
To me (not that I care), Locke committed adultery because she was married. Her husband being gay or the prospect of a sex-less marriage does not alter the legal and moral reality of a marriage. Mind you, I don't blame Locke for committing adultery, but I find her stance hypocritical given that she and C.E. were merely girlfriend-boyfriend.
