  • i didn't know football was most popular back then...i thought it was baseball.

  • @Hperman09 Probably depended on what town you were in. Lol

  • 2:00 The Stooges have a great aerial view of that stadium from where they're standing. They could watch all the games there for free.

  • When Curly fell on the football wouldn't you say he was sitting on the ball?

  • So funny when Curly twists his own foot!

  • My favorite part 4:18-4:23

  • @athelia4444:

    You said it all...

  • This kinda reminded me of how ridiculous the recent census was. lol

  • Simpler times?! what are you nuts? let me remind you boy that back in those days the all world was in the most horrible war of all times.

  • 100,000 people x 4 cents = $4,000

  • Curly running with the ball, now that's funny!!

  • @48alfaone Curly ran and walked that way because when he was 9 he accidently shot hisself in the foot. He was afraid to go the doctor to have it fixed so he let it heal on it's own causing a permanant limp.

  • I counted 13 guys on the red team including Moe, Larry and Curly. That's a 5 yard penalty ref...[smack, eyepoke, punch to the gut]

  • That football stadium is the LA coliseum back in 1940 and probably a USC game. A 100,000 in the crowd, could it possibly be USC and Notre Dame?

  • @sjvalv Either Notre Dame or their crosstown rival UCLA.

  • @SheriffTankStoner Lmao, Notre Dame is in South Bend, Indiana. UCLA is in the middle of Los Angeles...

  • @kbnug86 I know that, I was referring to UCLA and USC as being the 'crosstown rivals'.

  • well those three can say "At least we were in the NFL!"

  • Ha ha...Curly put Alum powder in the punch.

  • At 4:48, Curley gets decked then performs self-multilation? Why n'cha stop 'em, applehead?

  • The Stooges get pwned by the cop at 2:38, then they get him back, kinda like "Press, Press, Pull" from "Beer Barrel Polecats"

  • "You got brains like Napoleon."

    "Napoleon's dead."

    "I know."

  • You can trust us, we'll only tell the Government. Ahead d their time.

  • Hunchback. That line made me laugh so hard and it still does.

  • You have brains like Napoleon.

    Napoleon's dead!

    Yeah, I know.

Ha! Reminds me of my favorite joke I used to tell all the time, till everybody I know already heard it. Oh, here we go, you haven't heard it"

"I'm better looking than Elvis! If you don't believe me, dig him up and look!"

    Ha, ha, ha!

  • I miss the.. simplicity of that time. You didn't have a microwave - all your food was fresh bought at the market, and prepared by hand.

You didn't have a TV (in nearly ALL cases) - you had a radio, cards, stickball, boardgames and your imagination.

You didn't worry that the government was going to take your rights away, you looked up to the government because it protected you.

You didn't have technology of convenience, you had the movie theatre, plays, and friends.

    Simpler times...

  • Preparing food by hand is simpler?

  • @DanielKnyphausen. Yeah, you had polio, and you had rampage bigotry, and the government was so corrupt they didn't have to explain atom bombs, and wars.

    Good times.....

  • life sucks no matter what era it is

  • @DanielKnyphausen that's a polite way to view the times. At the time, economy was in the ruts, jobs were hard to find, gangsters appeared and organized crime became what it is today. If you were a minority, you were likely to be screwed over by society, blacks more so. On the other hand, society was indeed less vulger and more social, idiot celebrities did not have a bigger influence then your kids, and Taxes were hardly noticable unlike today.

  • @DanielKnyphausen

Nobody had a TV at the time this short was made. Television didn't become widely available until 1948 - this short was made in 1940.

  • @DanielKnyphausen

You realize this was still the era of Jim Crow Laws, segregrationism and Japanese internment camps?

Yea we can put out the good of the 1940s when the Three Stooges were at their best but lets not delude ourselves either.

  • @DanielKnyphausen Well, there's good and bad in every age.

  • @DanielKnyphausen True but then we would have to watch the stooges on the big screen and only one at a time. Not like now when I can access any episode, anytime, and anywhere.

  • @DanielKnyphausen Your government 'protected' you ?? Federal Reserve Act. Americans sold into perpetual slaver, a debt from which they can never escape. Check it out.

  • @DanielKnyphausen You also didn't have the medical miracles we have today, or the labor-saving devices we now use (important ones, I mean), among other things. Don't take for granted the more "complex" times.

  • @DanielKnyphausen If only we could travel back to those times again.

  • @DanielKnyphausen

I wouldn't say it was more simple, but I know what you mean by the point of back in the days when people had a real imagination. Men sure weren't afraid to work, and women knew how to cook from scratch and sew their own clothes.

  • @DanielKnyphausen (sigh) I know what you mean! I wish things were more like that now, I feel so crowded with all this technology. Sure its great to get the job done but people don't interact anymore.

  • @DanielKnyphausen

Dont forget: you went to your friends and rang the doorbell if you wanted to visit them!!!

  • @DanielKnyphausen People have been worried for thousands of years that their government will take their rights away from them.

  • 4:10

    *I'll take the right end*

    *I'll take the left end*

    * which end will you take?*

    *Ill take vanilla*

    hahahhahah xD

  • you don't like chocolate?

  • Larry: Quarterback.

    Moe: Halfback.

    Curly: Hunchback!

  • quater back

    half back

    hunch back!

  • If That Was to continue they would probably get injured by a swarm of footballers

  • LOL at 1:05, Moe sounds like he's speaking German!

  • Roses are Red and How do you do

Drink four of these and woo woo woo woo

  • I Love how the "Colorization" Process has come so far that you can't even tell this was originally in B/W. Unlike the early colorized stuff. I can't watch these in B/W anymore!

  • LMAO!!!

Moe: How much is 4 cents times a hundred thousand?

Curly: *Calculates*....a dollar and a half

Moe: A dollar and a half?

Curly: Yea thats with the out tax!

    Moe: Without tax *hits him*

  • They sound like a bunch of monkey's. hehe. And yes It's in color! :D

  • lol, curly pops the football

  • THIS IS IN COLOR!!!!!!!!!!
