Cape May, New Jersey

Its a peninsula! 3 sided with the intercoastal waterway- freshwater-sort of- going between atlantic and Delaware River..and two bridges go over small little slim break of water...in a few spots...it is lowest section of nj on latitude almost with Washington dc.!

Cape may is not an island. Its a Cape. Hence the name.

Despite the name, it actually is an island. The Cape May canal was dug a few decades back to shorten the time for ships to get to the delaware bay. This made this little cape an island.

it was actually dug during world war II to provide a sheltered route for U.S. coast guard ships in order to avoid direct german submarine warfare.
