  • ur fucked dont go to philippines when u hate americans are the ebst haters in the world!

  • To all the negative views here, I encourage you to read the economic news about the Philippines starting January of 2012!!! Watch out Malaysia and Vietnam!!! In the coming months, our country will have an investment rating from different financial institutions!!! # in BPO, #4 in shipbuilding, a tourism industry on the rise, mining, and ofw remittances....etc..read the news people!!!

  • yeah well filipinos are know as the under dogs but then even in the most rural province here, people could speak english. unlike in the other countries, they do study here to learn the same thing

  • the are all ugly bitches who want to leave and marry fat bastards like this for his dollar and get citizenships...yeah they are smart

  • The 1987 Philippine Constitution crafted by the oligarchs prevents massive Foreign Direct Investment to flow in the Philippines freely by requiring foreign investors to give the 60% of their capital to mostly unscrupulous dummies and companies who can't really compete with foreigners in the first place. Philippines actually is becoming like North Korea.

  • stock exchange is really growing.. but the filipino people is the problem, ur ryt... philippines is an unpolished diamond... the problem is the filipino people.... that's my other point of view...

  • Phl is 12th most populous country

  • @intex224433 and its an asset!!!

  • LOL, with all due respect, this guy has no idea what he's talking about. How many years have you been in the Philippines? The Philippines has fallen economically and continue to fall and lag behind other Asian countries. The foreign direct investments you're talking about is zilch compared to Vietnam with $Billions FDI. Vietnam had a civil war and was shunned by the world. Now they have more FDIs than the Philippines.

The Philippines is corrupt to the core. Its people complacent about it.

  • @1818JoseRizal1898 that was before! Vietnam economy is now slowing down because of high inflation rate!!! Your major city is nothing compared to Manila. Read the news about Philippines today 2012!!! In the coming months we will have an investment grade!!! so fast considering that our new President is just starting to eliminate all corruption in the government. Watch out!

  • This country should have been one of the richest in Asia. But a history of violation caused by colonization, poor governance, corruption, dictatorship and nepotism has left this country way below it's true potential. Go outside Makati and Metro Manilla, and you will see a completely different country.

  • Want something better for the country? Abolish the 60-40 ruling in the 1987 Cory Constitution so that more investments will get in the country.

  • siguro nanlalabo na mata ni lolo sa pilipinas..wala naman syang kongkretong pueba sa sinasabing "Unpolished diamond raw?"weh! baka puwet lang ng baso ang tinitingnan ni lolo.Correction: Philippines is not the diamond of asia but Pearl of the Orient in Asia.

  • weh..estoryahe!kulang lang sa pansin si lolo.

  • Why not take advantage of this video's title as "The Unpolished Diamond of Asia" and make the Philippines a great economic power, just like what South Korea, Hong Kong, and Taiwan enjoy now? Those are our closest neighbors, and they made economic progress through discipline, engineering, and unity. We can be proud Filipinos, but we need to discipline ourselves and show that we can work with a government that aggressively promotes the best Filipino values while starting our own Industrial Revolu

  • you should try visiting TONDO it is nearby in manila THAT YOU WILL SE THE BEHIND THE SCENES OF OUR COUNTRY

  • @PugadBavboy soon tondo will be gone will be replaced by tall buildings

  • 60 % of white middle age men who came to the Philippines came to fk young cheap whr, because no hot white chicks wants them unless they have a lot of money. That is one hell of Diamond on the rough. Great for tourism.

  • Ok, so we have many english speakers, yet our country is not so great? Look at Japan, prime example. Or any of our neighbors, they did not require english to prosper.

  • mga kababayans! be vigilant! we are poised to fly! let's not spoil it! start with what you have and what we can do! funny that individuals like pacquiao, charice do well and we go crazy. but we should focus on becoming great collectively!!!

  • BE HUMBLE FILIPINOS, do not overestimate yourselves, especially if youv'e never done anything for your country..

  • @13Constellations tamaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! :D

  • The Philippines population has 93 percent literacy...which is very very good news, for us, which can help the industry improve. and also Philippines is the 3rd English speaking country in the whole world. For me, only what we need is a Discipline of a Government and a people of its country. And a CONTROL of population..thank you for promoting..

  • Big sigh* @ all of the debates below.

  • FOR YOUR INFORMATION,PHILIPPINES IS 3RD LARGEST ENGLISH SPEAKING CONUNTRY IN THE WORLD.

  • Lol nice title

  • its Philippines not Phillipines thumbs up for him to edit the title!

  • @CLoud9Crazy Honestly even some of the Filipinos don't know how to spell Philippines correctly, lemme give you a hint: 1st: spell Philip (From Philip II of spain) 2nd: add "pines" :D, it is sure one of the most difficult to spell along with Czechoslovakia etc.. well, its not a serious matter though..

  • We really don't know what will happen in the future. IF Filipinos WOULD/SHOULD DO their own way to make their life more easier and at ease. Some Filipinos ONLY dependent from the government for example "Let the PH government feed us, they will not let us bring them down."(Just like SPOILED BRAT BABY, isn't it?) But now Aquino administration has the capability of our PH nation will become First World country in the year 2020 IF FILIPINOS WILL UNITE AS ONE AND NOT BE DEPENDENT! PRIDE WILL KILL US!

  • Though industrialization and social services in the Philippines grow, but the nation is facing an imbalance economy. About 55% of the GDP comes from services, 30% from industry; but only 15% comes from agriculture. This fact rise to high cost of living resulting to incresing percentage of people fall below poverty line (32% - in 2009). I wish the government pays attention in agriculture too, for sustainability.

  • our country is great but the politicians are not.............period....

  • Mabuhay ang Pilipinas!

  • @deesilvestre are u crazy wag kang mabuhay jan kya tulyo ang Pilipinas ay Unpolished Diamonds of Asia wag ka jan maging masaya!

  • The problem is alot of Filipinos are financially illiterate and ignorant. Even if Phils. gets better economically it's only the smart ones and the clever business men who will benefit from it and of course let's not forget the corrupt gov't officials/ employees. The dumb ones will, as always, be left behind. Sorry, I just have to say that.

Another thing is that our population growth is obviously outpacing our economic growth, unfortunately.

  • @limbo628 Totally agree about the ignorant Flips. And trust me the majority of the flips are stupid, and the select few who are smart are the Filipino-elite.

  • @flamingpinkflamingo0 filipinos are not stupid.most of us are just uneducated but we have the highest literacy rate in southeast asia.

  • @OWLCITY54 Just because your country has the highest literacy rate doesn't mean anything, sure you guys can read that's absolutely fine, but you guys lack comprehension skills. According to an article I read states that 20.1 million Filipinos aged 10-64 lacks basic comprehension. Without comprehension skill, you guys cannot analyze a text or look at things at a different perspective.

  • @flamingpinkflamingo0 oh really? well that's what you think . May I know your country?

  • @OWLCITY54

Too much emphasis for Tagalog from the Tagalistas. Forget Tagalog, make English and Spanish the National languages. We can then protect all 175 LANGUAGES.

  • there are 3 social divs in the Philippines before. so as today.Poor people that have no future and life, common people(educated and decent-went to a decent college and not to a shitty college) that should not be called common as they are uncommon but not rare..rare people are the rich tycoons and those uncommon ones that went outside the country(not referring to the ofw people that washes the arse of people in other countries).you may hate this comment but its true. observe ur neighborhood

  • @weward i love filipino's even if there poor you suck

  • @MJILIKETHATYOULOVEME y did you say that i s*ck?! i just stated my opinion which i think is true..I love Filipinos too. IDIOT

  • @weward sorry im a filipino just defending our country lets just not fight we're filipinos

  • The country needs 2 have an investment and R&D intellectual property background.

  • actually the Philippine economy increased up to 7 % and more at the end of 2010. Tnx for endorsing the Philippines

  • it grew 7.0%+ this year...

  • philippines is the number one tourist destination because of its wonderful tropical beaches.

  • Philippines is really a great olace to live.. I went there once and it was so modern country..nicer weather than here in europe..I don't understand so many Philipino people say negative things about their country tha makes foreigners like us thinking the same....

  • @edpannewyork you don't really know what culture what we have here, but Philippines is just like the other countries have negative and positive aspects

  • @edpannewyork you know why we say negative hings about our country 1.its poor and corupted 2.low english 3.armys air force swat every armed forces of the phillipines has no advance weapons no aircraft cariers has a lot of figther plains but just letting it rot and doing no mentenance thats why they say bad things phillipines

  • @carbon5146 sorry but i have to contradict #2

philippines is one of the largest english-speaking nations in the world, ranking 5th globally and 2nd in all of asia. We have beaten india in business support services(call centers) in its number 1 position, making the philippines the leading country in the field.

  • @OWLCITY54

Problem is that out of 400,000 graduates, 75% have inadequate English. Only 10% of applicants can work in Call Centres.

  • @mad8london247 funny. you are happy if all the 400000 graduates you said must be an apllicants for call center. call center is not a good job. it will give a bad effect in the future. philippines can may have a brain drain. because even engineers like me, nurses and other graduate with board may not take the board exam and just apply to that call center where they do not belong. call center are for non-board courses. even not for college graduate. just for h.s graduate with training.

  • @minetot25

Due to the corruption of the Oligarch bought government, College graduates are aspiring for call centre jobs. The lucky ones find careers. Others have to emigrate.

    11 million Global Filipinos.

As my uncle who is an Engineer and lives in the U.A.E. has told me, no matter how qualified and experienced he becomes, the boss will be a native English speaker. American, British or Australian.

  • @OWLCITY54 A good number if Filipinos able to speak moderate amount of English and using manay spanish words (with a very heavy accent and largely because there is writing scripts and limited terminologies in Tagalog) still has not, for the last century or so, brought the Philipines to prominent status yet. Speaking English doesn't warrant a whole lot, otherwise, Latino and Black Americans, who are quite fluent in Engish, wouldn't be lagging behind others so much in academics & earnings.

  • @carbon5146 shut up, visit here and I'll you show what Philippines is!

  • @BroYouKnowMe what do you mean visit im from philippines im a pilipino man

  • @carbon5146 looks like not, okay but by the way, Filipinos are low in english? Do you think we really are poor in english? I can prove you wrong, visit some schools and try to speak in english with some teenagers they'll reply back in an American English style. Poor? Philippines is a developing country nowadays, you can't say that we are very poor check out the google, man. THANKS! kbye, ingat ka ha wag ka magalit opinion lang. :D

  • @BroYouKnowMe d ako galit bro

  • @carbon5146 good.

  • yeah! that's what i want to hear from foreigners! greetings from zamboanga buenas dias!
