@swedishhockeypro as for gems dont worry to much about socket bonus just go all SP,haste,or sp/haste. Chant wise again stick to SP and haste. As for a new guide i dont really have any thing in the works right now. With Cata on the way we are rushing to finish up heroic icc (Sindy at 15% CURSE YOU!!!) and in a few weeks im sure ill be rushing to 85 to start the new content. Ummmmm ill try ..(TRY)... to get a new guide if i can find the time.

@shadow123474 Dude I have enchants + gems and 5.6k gear and I have 1222 haste unbuffed, DONT LOOK AT SOCKET BONUSES, just put Yellow gems (+20 haste) in all socket slots blue, red.. Its simple.. ;)

The reason your CL after LvB costs mana is because clearcasting hasn't taken effect yet since LvB didn't hit yet.

To fix this, simply put a LB between the LvB and CL.

Good video for starters and it's good to see you spamming those buttons. :)

But as for mana issues i rarely get under 50% (unless i have to spot heal).So the CL for me is mearly a timeing issue basicly just getting one more cast in. Yeah some reason IF was really laggy with me running fraps so yeah i had alot of screw ups and spamming buttons. thanks for the info

Nice guide, I had a few questions, brief intro first. I started playing about a week before BC and did everything except Sunwell and in Wotlk I think I only did the beginning raids like Naxx then I quit. I played a Warlock as my main, Destro spec. And next summer I was thinking about starting up again.

I was thinking about either making an Enhance or Elemental shammy. What one is easier to gear? What one has higher dps? Is one harder to play than the other? What one provides more to the raid?

@Coolestgoose well lets see i would say ele just cause even ghostcrawler came out on a blue post and basicly said enhance shamans and frost mages suck (raid wise). As for buffs tremor totems/hero are our best buffs to offer. (Soon mages will have hero so mark that off the list in Cata). Just seems to me that Shaman's where the "utility class" but yet for some reason almost all of our totems get trumped by some other class.Ele is a rotation spec where enhance is a "wack a mole"

@Coolestgoose Cont^ ele would be the easiest to gear imo. your the only mail caster where enhance your rolling on hunters aswell. As for DPS there is ALOT that comes into play for that latency,movement,skill,adds,ec­t.... Personally i prefer ele to enhance.

But this guide, as well as your opinion, helped me decide on an Ele Shammy. But one last thing, what race is best for an Ele shammy?

@Coolestgoose best race for a shaman. hummmm havent really thought about that. space goats have +hit, trolls +haste(short duration),orc's +damage (short duration) cow's +.... well screw cows. im alli but sadly i would say either an orc or troll would be best. i havent seen the numbers to really compair but thats just my off the top of my head guess.

@woogieboogie1000 Well I'm gonna play Horde for sure just because I've played alliance for so long so it would be a nice change. About the thing you said on racials I'm either gonna play Troll or Orc. How much does a racial add for DPS?

I heard Trolls were for Ele/Resto and Orcs for Enh. If I made an orc, played enhance for a bit then figured out that elemental did more damage, would I do less dps because of my racial compared to an elemental troll shaman?

i never use chain lightning in my rotation due to it not hitting so hard i crit alot with a 5k gs so when i try to throw in a chain lightning it dosent hit as hard as anything else so it reduces my own dps. or thats just me

@SyKo8861 Gear Score is not what effects the fact that you should use CL or not. Weither or not it will help or hurt your dps is based off your haste(and or latency).

Hey I have 4736GS, I tried your rotation and I pushed about 4.1k dps, I've been using a different rotation I found on Google a while back and I was doing 4.8k, that rotation is

Fire Shock - LB - CL - LB - Lava Burst - LB - CL - LB than repeat. but you make a valid point, using Chain Lighting isn't very mana efficient

@fuzzybunny1337 new rotations take time to learn and get used to. Procs and crits play a big role in dps, so you want multi test and time to truely learn and get the rotation down to compair. But in the end this is a game play the way you like to play. This is just the cookie cutter rotation for end game dps.

@Terrahorn honestly i think for that UI i just had default blizz damage text. I cant think of any adds i used that would effect that. As of now use a whole new UI set up so whole interface file got deleted sorry i couldnt help.

Quick question regarding your addons / UI. 1) how do you move / scale your chatbox? And 2) how do you change the background for BTEX or whatever its name is? The rest very helpful and i hope i can put these tips to use when i finally get my shammy to 80. Boa can only do so much ;)

@coalbrad to move/scale the chat box just right click the "general" tab and go to unlock.then your free to left click and drag the box and little arrows in bottom left corner to scale it. and btex is either /btex or /btex menu. i cant remember off hand but one of those will work. i have a new UI that i will be posting a video on (soon hopfully if i can find the time) good luck on your shaman Cata seems like its gonna be a blast for ele shamans.

@kimkim283 eh yeah i can kinda see that but saurfang? just unglyph thunderstorm and you shouldnt ever have to run. Sindy on the other hand just depends how much of a problem your haveing with bittering cold. Normally mouse turning is fine (i have rocket boots for any unexpected lag spikes) but im sure a swiftness pot will do the trick aswell.

not even 8k with heroism is pretty fail, also using CL isnt good to use when heroism is up and probably isnt the best to use while EM is up either. haste potions dont stack with hero and using any haste CD wont be as effective with hero than it will be without, i realise your probably gonna call me some stupid nub that needs to go back to school or w/e but thats not gonna stop me from trolling you. lolerskates roflbuckets

They do but you dont want to cause it will prolly throw you over the haste cap there for wasteing it. Over all this is a very sloppy video i did it in a hurry and had a very low fram rate. Im raiding full time on 3 toons and havent had much time. Ill try to fix this vid and have a new (better) one posted.

@cocomoloko well you need 2 blues for your meta (12 SP/15Stam) try to put them in pc.'s for socket bonus. Other than that yeah just SP for red and SP/haste for yellow ignore the rest.
