was heisst hier mit mühe und not bei maximaler landebahnausnutztung, der airbus a380 kommt auch schon nach etwas mehr als einem kilometer zum stehen, salzburg hat 2,75km und dort sind auch schon 747 gelandet und gestartet (in real)

das sieht alles voll scheiße aus. fsx ist viel besser, mit szenerie von rgflight :)

Xplane beats FSX, in terms of the water effects, the water in XPlane looks so more more real, in movement, and FSX water is to bright, for water.

Well, with a sim, I want a realistic looking environment, and in my opinion, X-Plane's water is better than FSX, and I have used both.

For one, I am not a hardcore flight simmer, and two, you must do it, or you wouldn't have made the comment.

There are FSX plug-ins as REX for the water and doing so it becomes 10x better than X-Plane water. And for the rest of the environment... well FSX can cast a big LOL to X-plane.

Anyway deciding which flight simulator to get according to water visuals isn't smartness synonym.

@Gian092 Well, I don't base my opinion solely on environment, but X-plane performs better than FSX, FSX was botched, when it came to system requirements... it was poorly written for multi-core machines... I have a Quad Core, and FSX runs at like 20 fps on default settings...

Incompetence of FSX programmers is a tautology but there are guides to overcome this.

On maximum settings with the default scenario and aircrafts I have at least 60 FPS (because I use v-sync) and FSX utilizes all the 8 threads of my i7 2600K.

Anyway multithreading is already supported since SP1 or Acceleration pack.

Hell with the right tweaks you can even use SLI without mentioning the whole universe of tweaks, mods, expansions and plug-ins for FSX.

@Gian092 Well, I have a Q6600 @ 2.4GHz... FSX shifted most of the processing to the processor, unlike FS2004 and before, which used GPU a lot more... which was a bad move on their part...

FS2004 plays smooth as crystal for my machine, but FSX, even lowering the settings still yields less than satisfactory results... and that's the common response from most I've talked to, even a hardcore FSX user... FSX is the Vista of the FS line...

But anyway isn't just software and hardware, FSX even needs a tweaked OS to run smoothly.

@Gian092 I've tried just about every tweak I can find, it doesn't help... you're working against a lot of similar opinions, people have concluded that FSX was botched on it's system requirements... what MS listed is not even close to minimum... people shouldn't need tweaks for a game to run smoothly... all of my other games of that time ran perfectly fine... Flaps look like they're deployed if you look at 0.27. Reverse thrust generally isn't animated in x-plane except for some high quality ones like the xpfw 757 because they require complex plugins. The lack of spoilers though is obvious and would definitely get a pilot fired.
