He definitely has whatever the allele/s is/are that control blondness given that his "brown" hair is that light (and I'm pretty sure brown is dominant over blond so the heterozygosity must be pretty even; or it's even more likely that epistasis is occurring). He's got Ryan Gosling type of hair color...

@girolle01 Yes, in the alleles for hair color the brown allele is dominant over the blond. However, if you have the Brown&blond gene (Bb) then you could have lighter brown hair than someone with the BrownBrown gene (BB), or have blond hair if you have the blondblond gene (bb)... genetics! But anyway, Tom's hair is actually a dark sandy brown that had to be dyed every year for the films, as his hair for Draco needed to be a platinum blond.

Two alleles can't possibly account for all possible phenotypes because of what is most likely QLTs. And I'm standing by my theory that his hair is naturally a significantly lighter brown (darker blond) than hat people are presuming it to be, hence a dark blonde. But phenotypically, there comes a point at which there's no difference between "dark blond" and "light brown".

You could totally see the difference in their intelligence in this interview. Evanna effortlessly answered the questions in a superb way, whilst Tom seemed a little out of his depth. Although it could be put down to the fact that Evanna seems so much more confident than Tom (this is what I'm gathering from her audition tape). Tom just doesn't seem very at ease with these questions, and because of that it makes his intellectual side falter. Poor Tom
