Wow that was one of the most horrific things i've ever seen in my life. I was fighting tears the whole time, until i couldn't hold it anymore with the pigs getting tossed against the concrete. There must be other places that take care of the animals better than this, but the places like these should be shut down and the people that run them should all be put through what they put them animals through. These people have no fucking hearts. They are a disgrace to the human race.
yea it's messed up how they treat the animals. would i want them to be more humane? yea is it likely gonna happen? no. vegetarians, especially vegans like you dont deserve the privilege of having the option to eat meat, or eat at all. You should go live in a third world country where little kids are starving to death cause they can't eat at all. I would love it for you to get tossed in their world and have them live in yours. Hey emma I remember seing this video on the peta website. The sad thing is that this is nothing new; however there is a lot to be gain by the meet industry when this issue is hidden from the media in general. Another point is that animals living under so much stress and killed so viciously are poison for the consumer. In the end the real losers are the animals because they don have a choice and the big winners are the drug industry, meat industry.
It sickened me to see these people treat these animals like this, but I know that there are plenty of places that treat there livestock a hell of a lot better than what's been shown in here. It just goes to show that the Government and the USDA need to be a lot more strict on these farms and slaughterhouses. It's a danger to humans as well to allow these animals to be in these conditions, when they shouldn't be subjected to such conditions in the first place.

And honestly, on our farms, the pigs are treated better than any other animal. They live in really clean conditions, and their pens are bigger than what this clip had. They wanted already processed meats in their fridge, they wanted to be able to walk down the street to their butcher and have him be stocked with meat. Thus was born "Mass Production". This was born due to something called "Mass Demand" or "Mass Consumption".
Second if you cannot stop eating meat, there are whole food/ organic food places where you can buy meat from chicken etc. who had a life worth living and who weren't tortured and brutally killed. Third, I have heard that comment so many times that they won't stop killing animals because we don't eat meat.Not true. Less people ask for meat, less meat will be provided eventually.
I will admit that I have not researched current farming practices/regulations, but I will say you should be very suspicious of anything source of information that mentions PETA in a good way. If this film is indeed the 'rule' and not the 'exception' I would say things should change. But people who think they can stop this by becomming unhealthy vegans are dead wrong. Vegitarians are, and always will be a tiny minority, because anyone with sense knows that humans are omivores.

Secondly, it was interesting to notice that many people make direct connection between meat-eating and sexuality. No meat, no big dick, no sexuality. I think this is just a stereotype, created by the meat-eating majority long ago which represents a vegetarian as a pale, sapless, almost sexless creature slowly draggin its legs and always dreaming of a little peace of meat.
First of all, I've noticed that lots of people think that if you go veggy, you will look like a skeleton or something like this. That is clearly not the case. That might be true if you become a radical form of vegan (like those, who try not to even hurt plants) but going ovo-pesco-lacto veggy (or a combination) should not cause you much harm.

Our class got to see how a sheep was prepared for a meal and it was cut up and killed (we also ate it to & I was much nicer than anything I have ever got in the shop). Oh, and for those of you that say it's OK because animals do it to each other, consider this: Sometimes animals kill and eat their own young - does that mean humans should do the same? I should hope not! Just because something happens in nature doesn't make it good. We have been given the gift of moral consciousness; I think we're supposed to use it!

I've seen similar videos before. It sucks, but it's true. There are virtually no regulations ensuring the humane treatement of animals raised for food. It's not like the vision we all have in our heads of animals roaming around on the open farm, like they did 100 years ago. An animal should be slaughtered as quickly as possible and without undergoing unnecessary pain.
And for you who think it is wrong to eat life, let me tell you something. Or tell me first, what is life? Well, the modern definition of life is something that has DNA. Think of how many living organisms you eat every day, from flies you swallow at night to the bacterias you drank together with a glas of water, can you sleep with that in your mind?
Fifth, next time you get meat served, think og this; you know how much this animal probably suffered, and it suffered just for the cause to give food to you and your family, so if you don't eat this meat, this animal will have suffered for no reason, can you sleep at night with that in mind?
Fourth, it may be painfull for the animals, and we can in fact see that, but how do we know that plants do not feel any pain? Or cells and bacteria don't feel any pain? A lot of people are afraid of the fact that we are manipulating genes and so on in the animals, and all right, I can understand why people are afraid of something so "sci-fi", but cells (bacteria cells) are manipulated all the time, in fact, they can even become mutant in our own body!
Third, meat is a very important part of the human diet. So if you are a vegetarian, then YOU are acting unnatural, because eating meat is a natural part of being a human being, so by refusing to support something that's indirectly unnatural you are acting unnatural yourself.
Let's pretend you're a vegetarian. Let's say I'll give you a chicken, and I'll tell you: "If you don't eat this chicken, I will go and kill another chicken." Will you eat it?

Secondly, it was interesting to notice that many people make direct connection between meat-eating and sexuality. No meat, no big dick, no sexuality. I think this is just a stereotype, created by the meat-eating majority long ago which represents a vegetarian as a pale, sapless, almost sexless creature slowly draggin its legs and always dreaming of a little peace of meat.

First of all, I've noticed that lots of people think that if you go veggy, you will look like a skeleton or something like this. That is clearly not the case. That might be true if you become a radical form of vegan (like those, who try not to even hurt plants) but going ovo-pesco-lacto veggy (or a combination) should not cause you much harm.

Animal cruely is a very sensitive subject that most people shouldnt touch, because its so sensitive.

Our class got to see how a sheep was prepared for a meal and it was cut up and killed (we also ate it to & I was much nicer than anything I have ever got in the shop). If all meat could be produced perfectly and without causing harm to animals then it wouldn't work at all, it would simply be to expensive!

I believe its ok to eat meat, knowing where it comes from is another thing. After seen those animals destroyed in those conditions I changed my mind about a few things. When I was in yr 9 I went on a school camp where there were cattle that lead a normal life and be killed in a nice way.

And another argument for reducing our meat intake is that the rate at which we consume meat is not sustainable in the long term - it's a highly ineffiecient use of sun energy. I'm not a vegetarian myself - I still consume meat and meat products because I want to make sure my diet isn't missing any key nutrients, but westerners, Americans in particular, eat way more meat than is necessary (way more food than is necessary, period - just look at the epidemic of obsesity in the United States.)

I've seen similar videos before. It sucks, but it's true. There are virtually no regulations ensuring the humane treatement of animals raised for food. It's not like the vision we all have in our heads of animals roaming around on the open farm, like they did 100 years ago. An animal should be slaughtered as quickly as possible and without undergoing unnecessary pain.

they hang them near the drain so when they slit their throats the blood will drain down the pipes and they hang them so the blood will drain out i think that they should kill the first very quickly and painlessly then slit their throats but a cow is primary source of food so they cany use lethal in jection because we eat the cows and that would poison us so slitting there throats is the only way to kill them fast.

The reason animals are raised and killed like that is NOT so the farmers can make more money but so regular people can afford to buy meat. Film the same thing in China or anywhere in Asia. I will continue to eat meat and so will the majority of the population who can afford to. There are whackjobs called fruitarians who go farther. We are not omnivorous by accident. I disagree with what was shown in this video, the cruelty, the circumstances, etc. It was utterly sickening. Although, I also don't believe that having a video, such as this one, should be used to force people to change their lifestyle. Indeed, everyone is entitled to their own opinion but these beliefs shouldn't be forced upon others. I'm not going to say that we need meat in our diet because I know that there are many alternatives for what meat provides.

That video was cruel disgusting but I just wanted to tell you that the methods of breeding and slaughtering animals are in most cases very unlike what this video shows. I most cases the methods are a lot less cruel and disgusting. And besides, terror tactics (Like this video) don't work on me. No offence to you dear Emmalina, you're a nice girl. I was completely dumbfounded with this video. I teared up and i could not watch the last minute of it, it was just too much. I feel extremely nauseous as well. I don’t think I will ever eat meat again; the graphics’ of this video will haunt me for a while too. I am not sure what I will say though when my chums question me on my new eating behavior.
