A friend of mine once said that piano was the most versatile instrument because you can play bass and lead without the need for another instrument.. He's was right until Hammond came up with this bass pedals tone wheels draw bars you really don't need anything else

@thomasjeeh Jimmy Smith, Brother Jack McDuff, Jimmy McGriff, Lonnie Smith, Joey DeFrancesco, Barbara Dennerlein. James Brown used it, too. There are plenty of jazz/funk bands that use organs worth checking out, like Soulive, James Taylor Quartet (New Jersey Kings), etc.
