I have been an indians fans since i was a little kid and this 07 team overachieved in my mind....they were clearly not the 95 or 97 team...but had decent chemistry.

This team had two Cy Youngs, the best hitting catcher in baseball....a solid DH (who it appears juiced and will never live up to his contract, but in 2007, solid season) and Grady playing some of the best baseball of his career (btw, not sure why he's slipped). On top of that, the Raffy's (who were highly touted prospects) were mowing people down out of the pen.

It really hurt to watch us lose the pennant to Boston after being up 3-1 in the series. Classic Cleveland heartbreak. Lofton was back on the team 2 Cy Young award winners victory pies in the face after wins. After that season the team was disbanded

As that season drfits futher and further away and the Tribe struggle......you begin to appreciate and cherish that year as well as the entire progression of that group. They all came up through the system, had the 2nd best record in baseball....

and were one out away from the WS.

Couldn't have put it any better myself. I can't think of another group of fans that gave a team a standing ovation after they missed the playoffs by one game by losing two to the AL Central Champs in the last series of the year (White Sox). I was at the game that eliminate the Indians and the ovation after the game (Remember that August and September!) was amazing and made me proud to be an indians fan!

Baseball for all its greed is still a great game. Anyone who's played little league knows the magic. Although not a follower of them, you couldn't help loving them. I don't ever think I'll ever forget Martinez's tears after the loss, they say he loves this team because they're unspoiled, play w/ passion & love their teammates-most of them assembled from a farm system much like the old days rather than piece-milled together by greed invested owners. For that, you've got to love the 2007 Tribe.

I think Cleveland gets it done. My prediction is that they are a little bit hungrier than everyone else. They want so badly to bring a title back to Cleveland. Cleveland hasn't won the World Series since 1948, and no sports team in Cleveland has won a title since like the 50's or 60's. After being so close to titles in all sports throughout the years but always coming up short, the Indians want to go all the way! I think this is year they get it done. Amen?
