I would rather be married and have kids then be single. It is too hard to be a single mom these days and trying to avoid the social sigma. Society looks down on single moms.
I'd get my tubes tied now if I could find a doctor who would do it. I am over 18 and considered an adult but its funny because the world treats women in their twenties like they can't make decisions.
I dissagree with something said in this video- it's okay to be a single mom. NO ITS NOT! It's not okay to have a baby alone and then live on welfare and expect taxpayers to provide for you like a husband would. If your single, you'd better be on birth control.
Why are women so conditioned to believe their life is meaningless w/o children? Men in their 30's and 40's are able to string women in their 30's along by dangling hopes of marriage and children before these desperate women whose only goal is to marry the father of their future children.
Please, have some self respect. There are more worthwhile goals than to breed. Or better yet, have a child without a unmotivated husband. You're both better off.
I keep telling my female friends to freeze their eggs. The biggest risks of late pregnancy are chromosomic-related diseases, so if a women is nearing 35 years of life, and has no short-term chance of having a child, then why not opt for an alternative? Once she's ready to be a mom, she will have her own baby with a healthy egg, the other risks asociated with pregnancy can be sorted out these days. And yes, no one can have it all.
I hope that one day a the perfect man will come along and approach her, wine and dine and woo her, pay for her dinners, and beg and plead with her. If she then considers him worthy enough, she may allow him the privilege to unbuckle his belt, pull down his trousers, bend down and jerk off in a petri dish at a fertility center in an attempt to fertilize those rotting, spoilt eggs.
Why is it that women have to sacrifice something and that they can't have it all? Men do not have to face the same issues - why do we let them get away with that?
well you can't have everything. i don't know when women started thinking that you could but that's gotta stop. you're gonna have to sacrifice something. you just have to get your priorities in order and decide what's worth still going after and what isn't.
I'm a little sad she didn't mention more options for those over 40 like adopting or even just fostering children from america and all over the world- there are so many broken children out there that need someone solid and stable to love them.
I think this is happening because people have an elemental need to pair up in a committed and constant relationship. However our society is at the same time telling people that you can have sex outside of marriage and have a Hollywood style romance for life with your partner. If people viewed sex as something reserved for marriage then people would get married sooner and stay married longer because there's that obligation. And if people stopped believing that lust is love than that would help.
Hell, anyone can have a baby, why not live your life instead of getting knocked up at 23, and not being able to party with your friends, or start your career. BREAK THE MOLD PEOPLE.
dont rush it sweetie... i said that im 18 with a baby mind you i got preg at 15.. wait til your ready when your ready, if your infertile, there are MANY diff ways
Having kids at 40? Yeah, no... I honestly feel that the best time to have your first child is between 25 and 33. You shouldn't be THAT much older than your first child because it's unfair to be old and frail when your child is getting ready for college.
So, she was 60 and nearing retirement when you were in college. She'd be retiring when you finished college and were just starting your career. If something money-related had happened, were either of you prepared to step up and help the other? That's the point I'm making. Sure, people are different; I had a friend who owned a house by his 19th birthday, but that's because his parents left him everything when they died. Yes, DIED.
I get your point perfectly. I want to have children when I'm still young (I'm almost 21 now). I was just commenting on that. and yes, we're ready if something happens.
Yeah, my mom was like 39 when I was born. She's dead now and I'm 25, but she didn't take care of herself like she could've either, so it's more her fault.

It's not okay to be a single mom, it's awful. The kid will be ruined, selfish bitches who don't care about their kids.

a trip to costa rica won't give you any meaning at all.
adulthood does not equate power and money and importance.

@curbowman Freezing eggs is against my religion. I was raised Catholic so mind your own business and get a life!
