@sassyface1943ho there is a 1941 Western Electric 302 up for sale right now on Ebay. Go to Ebay and enter SELLQUEST007 in the seller ID , to find the phone and place a bid
You can get one of these for MUCH less than an iPhone on eBay (about $10 + shipping) and you don't have to worry about it shatter when you drop it on the floor!
Very nice phone! I also have a 302 (made in 1939), and I was wondering if you could help me with a small problem. My phone also has a 5H dial, but it returns a little slowly, and the clicking sound is much quieter than yours. Do you know how to fix these problems?
Yup. The dial is going to need disassembly and cleaning, then a light oiling. Using a non detergent 10 weight. Don't go by the clicking noise in my vid, it's enhanced through the camera audio.
That is a great 302. I have hundreds of them. I also have some rare phones and hundreds of other types I have collected over the years. Take a look at my vids if interested.
In my opinion, this was one of the best telephones ever produced. I have a plastic one.

My grandmother had a phone just like this, when I was little. I still remember her phone number.

What is that in or over the one closest to the front edge of the phone? I have a few 302 models, but have never seen that before.

Over.inside the bell? That is a resonator. Changes the tone of the bell I believe.
