i agree Jack Irons was the best fitting drummer for the band, matt is just to aggressive or something idk?? And I also agree with the other people here that this is prob the most underrated PJ song in the catalog... just the guitar parts alone
@Spazmunt Yeah, i just prefer Jack as a Pearl Jam drummer. I enjoyed Mat in Pearl Jam on the 1998 tour, but he seems too rushed and sloppy for me, in Pearl Jam. I found Dave A and Jack kept very steady rythms. I love Mat in Soundgarden, even now as they've reformed. Brutal. Each to their own i suppose.
i've watched svt more times than i can count..... wore two thick rubber bands on my wrist for 3 months after i saw eddie wearing them.... hearing stoney and mikey and the boys talk about the music makes me swoon. but how about tonight, on this video, was the first time that i EVER noticed that jeff is wearing a pirates hat?! lets go bucos! :-D
does this svt cover have a cd album??i wanna buy one for collection sake...i already have the songs on itunes though from digital download...diehard pearl jam/ old school rock fan right here baby
i love this song, it is about the inner world, how you have to be true to it, you cant help but be cause it knows all, it shows you the truth, you must be loyal to it at all costs because it's the only way you will be free and happy.

There is something about Yield - the band really had a magical and true vibe around 98'. Not saying they still don't have it - they do, it's just something about circa 98', something special about the band's vibe at this time, at least to me.
@somehowthirty wow, the first person I've seen that understands. This is what the band was meant to sound like. I'm not saying its their best record, but the sounds fits them perfectly and to me is reminiscent of stuff like Blind Faith and the Band.
awesome voice, with the years he never lose his great voice i only admire this guy is realy amazing. much people said that heavy metal never died cause everyone who try to kill it can´t do it and i said that although many people belive that much music had killed Grunge music in the 90´, I think and I know that yet much people listen to grunge music, that´s why i can say that grunge is already ALIVE...
It looked to me that Mike had the Gretsch every time. I wish Stone still sung backing vocals in this instead of Matt Cameron. Bring back Jack Irons!!!
when I saw them live a couple of weeks ago Jeff Ament seemed to be doing all the backing vocals, and Matt Cameron didn't even have a mic in front of him.
the only thing stopping me from loving TEN as much, is the shit recording and crap reverb. . i cant wait until they relese the Brendan O'Brien remix of TEN . . i fall in love with it all over again
ok,I'm not even gay and I havea man crush on 98 Eddie (ok, all years of Eddie but especialy 1998). he looked and sounded his best during that album and tour. I fucking love SVT and this song and this band.
completely agree w/ u whygodrums10..Ed looks younger here and up until around 2002 or so than he did in the 90's i think??...and here he looks damn fine...btw ;)
1:07-1:55 is still boss after all these years.

@Catfaceization Fair enough actually. To be honest, Jack Irons drumming on Yield almost makes the album for me. Superunknown... *drool*

Jeff Ament is such a great bassist! Love his lines, no matter how simple or complicated, they just all perfectly fit into the shape of the song.

Pearl Jam will always rock on , because their basic roots down to earth grunge music speaks to all of us :)
To me, Eddie Vedder and the rest of Pearl Jam will always mean something
a band that not only changed the face of modern American rock music, but also brought back the art of deep meaningful song writing.

My dad got me into Pearl Jam with "TEN".
Then I bought "Yield" for about $4 at a Sam Goody (F.Y.E.) At my mall and boy did I strike gold haha.
This album is almost as good as "TEN".
