Yes, Bacalar is beautiful, the scenery. NOT THE PEOPLE. They will rob you blind, they are rude, obnoxious, overcharge Americans, and hate us because they are jealous of us. Do NOT waste your time or money there. The police are corrupt as well. They turn a blind eye because they hate Americans & will purposely pull you over just for a bribe. No one talks about the crime there either. There were 2 women raped & many burgularies on the costera. Something they try to keep hidden.
