  • part2themovie brings up an interesting point as well. I think what he/she is getting at is that if our universe is made up of information, then is it possible that our universe is analogous to a computer simulation created by some higher dimensional beings, or God, if you will? Would like to hear your thoughts on this.

  • Yes, this is a flag I've been waving throughout this project. If the multiverse landscape exists - then moving through that landscape is moving through a huge range of different kinds of universe, almost all of which would not allow for life as we know it. So there is a selection pattern that defines our universe from out of the multiverse, and what you call that selection pattern doesn't change what it is.

  • Yes, I have always been interested by the almost fractal nature of life - the way molecules come together to form cells, cells come together and give rise to creatures, and now as though an extension of our evolution, we are moving towards a sort of synthetic group consciousness. What are your thoughts on this?

  • Absolutely, that fractal/recursive/self-referential quality to our reality is an important part of this discussion, as we are talking about a way of visualizing the dimensions that at its core is a way of thinking about how to get to both the infinitely small and the infinitely large. Google "Nassim tenth dimension" for more.

  • Thought provoking, but I keep losing it when you say 'ABOOT' - sorry - LOL! It might have started with point, but that was a lame one, I know.

  • trying to understand reality is easier if yuo look at man's obsession with theatrics and virtual worlds. if you apply some projections of our technological capabilities it will onyl be some time when we are able to simulate something, perhaps our own reality, but able to simulate very closely by emerging us in an alternate universe where we can interact with the intelligent life there, then we like our creators will be seen as gods, another gross oversimplification but text does run out fast

  • But what prevents that universe from already existing?

What is the difference between simulating something and not simulating it?

    it will still exist

  • --> take with some 'salt'

Reality and existence are like wood and a house. reality is what is, existence is that infinite set of possibilities contemplated every day that are not enacted upon. What these guys refer to as the multiverse, parallel universes and mistakingly believe to be real dimensions.

Higher dimensions are still this dimension, and you'll not get the answers you're looking for there either.

  • firstly I am referring to the up secondly nothing prevents a dimension(another world) to exist in one of these dimensions while that is not likely that is not what I am talking about .

What I mean by my comment is if we can simulate a universe through a computer does it need to be simulated then?

  • I think the general consensis in the scientific community is that group consciousness does not to exist .

Although certain things would seem to suggest otherwise . Such as

1 the structure of of various pyramids .

2 cave art and drawings (those in France and Australia )

3 developement of various tools ( i.e. the boomerang being developed in by Australian natives and north american natives as well .)

4 various symbols and patterns .

All developed independent of each other .

  • none of those are examples of group consciousness.

  • Rob,

Let me recommend a book: Molecules of Emotion by Candice Pert.

It came to mind when you mentioned information being reality. She was an atheist who came to believe through her science (cellular biology and neurology) is that we are somehow designed or organized to believe in God through the Frontal Cortex -- which is where we are able to develop or grasp such things as the 4th dimension (some of us more).

  • I've talked about Candace Pert a few times in my blog, including in this video:

Haven't read Molecules of Emotion, though, thanks for the recommendation!

  • my good sir, where could a knuckle dragging ape, such as my self, pick up your fine works in print?

  • there's usually a link in the description box but theres not one here... try clicking on one of his other vids and it should have a blue hyperlink in the grey box.

  • Hey swordofisis, thanks for pointing that out. I've added a link to the text version of this blog into the description box now, you just have to click on "more info" to see it.

    Rob

  • :)

You can order my book through my site, just type "tenth dimension" into google and it'll come up. It's available in hard copy or as a downloadable pdf from there.

  • Man, keep up the good work, your research & presentation are always well organized & elegant, though google should mind their own unoffcial mantra in China, lol.

  • interesting stuff thanks again rob!
