Cars only explode when on fire in the movies. The gas tanks on cars are specifically designed to vent off and not explode. Tires will pop and such but the most dangerous thing for a bystander is on some cars, the pressurized bumpers will shoot off and can and have killed emergency personnel on the scene. Youtube has vids of this happening.

Rules for driving under icy/snowy conditions:

If its not recommended dont drive!

If you driving......

Put warm clothes on in case of a crash so you dont freeze to death outside.

A tea or hot coffe if very good if you slide into a ditch and the a towtruck is not available.

A cellphone for calling 911 or any other emergency stuff

Put winter tiers on you car before it even start to snow

Take some snow chains with you (They can be usefule beleive me)

Say somebody where you driving and on whitch road
