The decent citizens of Barking and Dagenham have shown the country that the white supremacist knuckledraggers are the minority. The BNP lost all of its 12 seats on the council and Captain Codeye did not make it to Westminster. It's a pity that there's not a way of naming and shaming the 6000+ lowlifes that voted BNP and brought national shame to Essex. Barking's pensioners were brought up in the East End and fought against fascists in the 1930's, their children and grandchildren follow on.

But it wasn't until the tides turned in the war on the Eastern front that most fascist governments began to side with the USSR and Western Allies. Otherwise fascism was very popular in a post-WW1/Great Depression world and the war effort did nothing but crush it.
