I was thinking of flying British Airways through Heathrow this summer to Athens in early June, and I am currently slated to arrive on July 24th, 2 days before the Olympic games start in London. However, given Heathrow's illustrious past with losing luggage (pre-terminal 5 days) and lengthy delays, I'm a little worried about flying with them and considering just taking Lufthansa. Do you think T5 is an efficient enough complex that its worth taking the risk just days prior to the Olympics?
@TSBA92 Terminal 5 is absolutely fine now, the problems it had on opening were due to staff not being familiar with the new baggage systems, rather than anything fundamentally wrong with the system itself. I flew out of Terminal 5, and back in again, multiple times in August/September this year and there were no problems at all, even when I had hold luggage. Obviously that isn't peak time but given T5 was completed to be British Airways global hub, I'd imagine it'll be absolutely fine.
@wahaya2 Okay, thank you so much. I haven't been to Heathrow in almost 6 years now and given that I've never been through T5 I was a little worried about the "unknown". I've wanted to fly British Airways again for years now and I find myself in a position to do that this summer. I just wanted to make sure I heard someone else's opinion on whether or not T5 will be up to the task prior to whats likely to be the 2nd busiest week Heathrow will have ever experienced
This is the Concorde Room, not the Concord Room ;)

Beautiful terminal architecture!

@mohit1214 T5 is actually a big soul-less shed. The lounges are noisy and not effectively screened away from other passengers.
