hm i wouldnt say its "the" slash tuning but he used it almost always in guns n roses in slashs snakepit and velvet relvolver he uses sometimes the standart tuning and drop d or open g (for the slide things) :)

I am a little curious on the Eb tuning. can someone tell me why guitarist tune down a half step when they could just play a fret lower. i know the open strings would be different but just ignore all that :P

@jhat25 good question ...the tuning is used for a couple of reasons imo the main one being its easier to bend so its popular in blues another is the deeper somewhat darker tone

because its easier bending the strings cause wen u tune them on the Eb tuning its slackening the strings and is also used to match the singing. Jimi Hendrix used it all the time cause he wasent the best singer but the best guitarist :)

actually a while back I broke my d string from tuning it down. It's because I was outside and the sun had been on it, is my guess. I can't figure out why but it was strange. And I'm not new to guitar, I've been playing 7 years.

This is a really good range. Slayer, Kiss, Motorhead, Hawkwind, Budgie, and some Black Sabbath songs are tuned to this key. It's just enough darkness.

Idk how others feel about this, but i think disortion makes it easier to tune. Makes it easier to hear vibrations that aren't supposed to be there when the guitar is properly tuned. But as i said, i dunno about others.

I recommend you fix your innotation, my strings used to do that and I was confused and thought they were old, but they were fine just the innotation was messed up, just look it up on youtube. [The major ringing on your E will be fixed :)]

i recommend you go to thicker strings and then fix your intonation. try d-adario 9.5's if you don't like 10's they sound better than most cheep brands. crisper and heaver sounding. i like the daft punk cover stuff. sounds good.
