@toyotatexas if youre going to go for a something just for acceleration, go for a small pony car with a sbc. like my nova. imports are cool, but i4 (not saying that all have i4) motors are expensive to get any power out of. you can make a 400 hp v8 for 1100 including the cost on the motor. it all depends on how you do it

@RicerEater1978 yeah but 400 hp v8 vs 200 hp I4. 4000 punds vs 2000 pounds. im swaping my motor out with a I4 1.3 turbo, makes 135 stock, up the boost to 12 psi and have around 150 and my car is about 1700 pounds if I go against a car that is 3400 pounds with a motor that is 300 hp. it would be an even race. oh yeah cant forget the motor swap is only 1000 bucks, and the stock ecu can handle 12 psi. all im trying to say is dont be fooled by big numbers. because hp moves what? your 4000 pound car.

@toyotatexas my car is weighing in at under 3400 actually. and im not saying you cant make them fast, but its cheaper to get more power and speed out of a v8 on most cars. for not much more you can get a supercharger for that same motor and get over 600 hp, gotta make sure the motor can hold that much. ive got a mitsubishi that weighs in at 2700 with a 2.4. i could put 2k into it and only make 200 hp

@RicerEater1978 it takes more then just a super charger to make that power unless it already has forged internals and high compression, and 2000 bucks to make 200 hp would be like paying 50 bucks for a pack of gum you could probably make 200 just with some cams and a reflash of the ecu... and thats around 2 maybe 300 dollars.

Dumbass you must be living in the city. In places where trucks need to be fourwheel drive, we call them rear wheel drive, or four wheel drive. Did you know there is about 800 pounds more in a four wheel drive when you think about the front diff, cv's, drive shaft, transfer case, and all associated fluids. Im pretty sure its safe to say this is what he meant by "converting to RWD to save weight and go for low 9's"
