ladies i need your help. i recently purchase the chanel chance for my girl friend and i she love it i mean love it so im assuming thats her smell or shall i say taste of perfume... im new at this any sugesstion it would be a b day gift.. :)
Miss Dior Chérie seems like coco mademoiselle chanel, but the pop corn ingridiente make a little diference between the miss and mademoiselle. Isn't not katie? kiss
@Richard6562 For me, the real difference is the strawberry in the (orginal) Miss Dior Chérie. But yes, both MDC and Coco Mlle are big patchouli perfumes.
Spot on! I remember trying on this fragrance last year and feeling like a 10 year old with a fresh sweet strawberry sorbet in her hand all the way home. Not in an entirely bad way either but one would think twice! So when I heard this EDP had been reformulated this year, I tried on a new sample a few days back. Clearly, the fruit and the sugar are more laid back and I kept sniffing my wrist as it dried down to a comforting dessert fragrance. Would love your thoughts on this 2011 version, Katie!
Miss Dior Cherie BUT the green version one. It is so amazingly Divine, fresh, clean, sophisticated, and wonderful fine!!!!!!!! Not this other version sweet orange/pastel one... I can't stand it !!!! It stinks!
I looove MDC!! I used to use only floral perfumes, and would hate the sweet ones, but only until I got pregnant, and from then on to this day that my son is almost 2 y/o I can't wear florals b/c they give me a headache (like Chloe for example) And MDC to me smells just devine for some reason, and to me this EDP not only smells youthful, and elegant at the same time, but it also feels comforting to me. It's a good combination of sweet and floral. Just my personal opinion. Thanks for the rev Katie
hahahaha I HATE the EdP, and I do think that MDC L'eau smells like kitty cat pee pee hahahaha but the EdT is quite tolerable on the right person, located far away from me hahaha
Are you familiar with Christian Dior addict eauFraiche. It was created to be the summer version of Addict but I can longer find it! I haven't come across any perfume that attracts me as much as that one did, I'm not finding anything keeps me happy now. If you don't know how or where I can purchase this (i'm iffy about buying them on ebay since Dior counters don't even know what i'm talking about), do you know any that could come close in comparison?
Sorry I really can't understand what does she say at 1:00. The people who does love miss dior cherie _____ ? im trying too hard to understad since im still lerning english!
Why did they reformulate it? Was it some desperate PR move to disassociate Dior from Galliano? Then it was totally unnecessary. Miss Dior Cherie was just brilliant. The strawberry opening was light and playful. The rose and violet following were in perfect accord with the fruity opening. Although it gets a bad rap as just another kid fragrance, MDC2005 was reminiscent of Patou's Colony and Balenciaga's Quadrille. It was a nice gourmand chypre that was not trying to be Angel for once. I miss it:(
@selfpotatoify I'm guessing Dior reformulated as a business decision, and not anything to do with Galliano's disgrace. Since Miss Dior Cherie is a hugely lucrative perfume for them, the more juice they can churn out and attach the MDC name to, the better for their profit margin. I've not heard that the 2005 version is being discontinued, only that there's this new 2011 EDP, smelling different, but confusingly with the same name.
@KatiePuckrikSmells Thank you for the clarification. His comments were rightly condemed, but I really like the 2005 formulation. The identical names are confusing.
@lalalaHilary I haven't encountered the new version in the stores yet - only the scent strip in magazine ads. They seem to have taken out the strawberry.
Oh, Dear Katie, please help! According to Fragrantica, (where I look for my daily fragrance news/reviews/etc), MDC has been "reformulated" now that Portman is the new face. I would like to know your thoughts on this. Personally, I enjoyed the odd, eccentric, fetching quality of the 2005 version. The sales associates I have talked to either give me a "WTF? look" or insist that I am mistaken about the change. Could you set the record straight? Thanks, dear! :)
@iamcasihart All I can add to what you've read on Fragrantica is that the Natalie Portman-fronted Miss Dior Cherie magazine scent strip I smelled (from this month's Allure or Lucky mag, maybe) is a completely different scent to the strawberry patchouli original Miss Dior Cherie. But when I was at Nordstrom yesterday, they still had only the old MDC. So it looks like it hasn't hit the shops yet.
It is very confusing, because they've completely changed the smell, but kept the same name!
@KatiePuckrikSmells Thanks so much, Katie! Yes, it is confusing and quite strange. Furthermore, it is bothersome for those people that may want the 2005 original and are unsure of what they will be getting when they make a purchase. Also, why make the scent totally different, yet give it the same name? As if there weren't already enough confusion with MDC and her various flankers, (both existing and discontinued).
ugh. . . i love this fragrance but i just can't get over the price. Is there anywhere that i can get the 3.4 oz for cheaper than 98 dollars?? online suggestions not including ebay lol
@DCV19 Click on the link to my Miss Dior Cherie blog post in the video description post, where I've got links to online discounts. The cheapest way to buy MDC is to get an unboxed one.
If its possible to have an orgasm at the fragrance counter, well I "came" pretty close when I smelled Miss Dior Cherie and knew it was for me forever! Only once or twice does a fragrance come along that you know was made just for you and your particular body chemistry. A fragrance that hits some part of your brain and causes memories and dreams to intersect with goosebumps, shivers in the scalp, and just an all around good feeling - you know - a fragrance-counter orgasm.
I love Miss Dior Cherie for when I want to smell girly, but I definitely wouldn't wear it to an interview or to work. It's kind of like strawberry shortcake.
I agree, I don't really like Miss Dior Cherie even though mine was custom made from from Anna Pare, an oil store in Paris.. Try layer it with Diorissimo, the Lily of the valley will leave a pleasant base note.
I am not a fan of Dior perfumes in general, it's like the people who create them start with a good idea... but then something goes wrong. I mean, I think they are good fragrances, but there's always something that makes them smell overpowering, so the result is that they smell cheaper than they are.
@KatiePuckrikSmells Well.. your chair is unquestionably, absolutely the most elegant and fashionable chair I've seen on youtube. = ) I love it ! It is beautiful and devine. You sould be proud to own it. I want that chair = )))
Agree, this perfume smells so cheap, like something you can buy at a drugstore. If it wasn't for the brand name, I really think it wouldn't be nearly as popular as it is. Worst part is the lingering cloying fruity-ness that even relentless scrubbing with soap can't get off! Eek.
i have only smelled this in a magazine sample...but i loved it!!!! i can't wait to get it..it does not smell like popcorn at all..it smells to me like Mountain Dew Code Red
@VideoDead69 i smelled this is a mag as well and made sure to buy it! it sas the best scent i've smelled in awhile since Clinique happy haha I like sweet and citricy smells and this one was perfect (not too strong) and very "pretty" but now i'm sick of it and ready for something with more "pizzaz" by the way, ur super funny Katie haha
No, no and no. I tried this last winter....mistakenly popped my gloves back on when I left Sephora. Then had to sit thru a movie with it throbbing on my wrist like a strawberry lollipop in HEAT. I had the hardest time scrubbing that heifer off and had to wash the gloves multiple times. thank goodness they were a cheap fleece.
i tried the pink "spring interpretation" of miss dior cherie, and i liked it better than the original. i found it almost...boring? but it seemed like something light and pleasant to wear at the office or at school.
got this too as a sample...i like it much more than lola too at first smell at least and also it reminds me of what would be worn in Paris, where I was a couple months ago..however, i find something superficial about this, like it tries to hard to be something, that is why I don't think i like it
I actually like it! I was really surprised that I do because I'm not a pink bow person du tout. But of the sweet florals, this one is surprisingly fresh. I use the EDT so maybe that's why i don't find it as overpowering as some people do.
this just smells like straight up pee and beer breath to me and it doesn't help that every person i've encountered wearing this fragrance has fifty too many sprays on.
Thanks foR telling me the smell description on this, I'm a guy and i love this so much ON A GIRL ! like how you describe floral sweet n probably that strawberry smell too they all blend very nice together, its liek eating enough chocolate or sweet food n stop b4 u eat too much and get sick of it.
this is the most annoying person... how insincere and forced... way over dramatic.... dont quit your day job honey... you arent clever, funny nor witty.... long winded, and a delivery like william shatner's acting.
@JessOnTheRun katie has been working for a long time n she aint going stop for you thankfully shes a very intelligent witty and down right hilarous woman in my view and i love william shatner so maybe theres a link there
I totally hate the perfume right away when you spray it, but I've come to love it and I feel confident wearing it. Also, I get a lot of compliments when I wear it. Espescially when I hug people ^^
I adjust my use of products just to make sure nothing clashes with it's smell. Luckily it goes with most shampoo scents and body lotions ^^
@punksrule4life It definitely takes a good few minutes with most perfumes for the alcohol smell to burn off and for the scent to start to heat up and bloom on your skin.
You make a good point about needing to be aware of how the scents of hair and body products might clash with your perfume. I absolutely love the smell of Moroccan Oil hair products, but I had to stop using the shampoo, because the smell competed with my perfumes. Moroccan Oil should do a perfume!
@KatiePuckrikSmells Yeah, I know about the alcohol smell, but the super sweet smell that... Ugh..! But sweet smells seem to suite me perfectly as long as it's a bit fresh too. Any recommendations? Miss Dior Chèrie is a bit expencive and doesn't really fit in a poor student's budget xD
Tangy scents kind of bug me, like Brittney Spears' original Fantasy perfume, it has that sweet tart scent that rubs me the wrong way, I've heard you say "it smells like shampoo but shampoo that makes me angry" and now I get what you are saying, the tartness of the perfume makes me feel like that.
I find it kind of addictive.. almost everytime Im in a department store I would smell it.. though that has decreased recently. I find it really.. nice? and yummy, but thats also the point.. while I probably wouldn't get annoyed by it, I dont want to smell edible (no huge love for fruity florals here either, it's not me) and in total, no real idea why, to me it smells slightly snobbish. lol. :D But still, I like it.
I must say, that this is my ALL-TIME favorite perfume. By just trying it at a store doesn't give it's justice. It's not too fruity or floral-y in my opinion. It also has some sophistication to it.
I had a 3.4 fl ounce bottle and I used it all up in 7 months! I NEVER use up a perfume so fast.
Like I said, this perfume is my favorite and I will continue to re-purchase it.
I smelled the dior cherie in the perfume shop. The first sniff was very sweet and overwhelming in a bad way,but as soon as it dries it has something cute and playful.
I love, love, love Miss Dior Cherie. I get compliments often when I wear it. I find that a little goes a long way and I prefer it in fall/winter or at night. Another fave of mine is Bond's Bryant Park (yum). Your channel is amazing!!!
@shellpox2009 Have you tried Bond No. 9 Chinatown? I think of it as a more refined version of Miss Dior Cherie, but still fun and flirty. What do you think?
@KatiePuckrikSmells I have "sniffed" it but I haven't tested it out. I never thought of the two in comparison but you are right, there are similiarites. I need to go do a re-sniff. I love the bottle.
I couldn't finish the whole bottle, it is really not an everyday perfume. I actually got many compliments from it, but I just got sick of it, and its also very expensive! My signature is Moschino Couture and I also wear NR, not into the sweet fragrances anymore!
I'm not huge fan of perfumes and colognes and smelly stuff like that but the first time I smelled a sample of Miss Dior Cherie in a magazine I fell in love! The only problem I have with this perfume is the price...
I like it - to the point of loving it. I'm full aware that I'm way outside the intended market with my almost 44 years of age - but I cannot help myself - it's comforting and soothing and takes the edge of tough days at work and helps me maintain the illusion that I''m the kind of "girl" that Miss Dior Cherie really fits - a true darling, a cherie. I'm no cherie, no no. But I am a perfume schizofrenic who also loooooves super green and super dry chypre fragrances. Hmmm... Should I seek help?
@KatiePuckrikSmells Thanks for the recommendation! Unfortunately, L'heure folle doesn't seem to be available in my neck of the woods, Denmark. Delices, Panthere, Must, Baiser de Dragon (who would want to??) and Eau de seem available. Other recommendations along the same lines are welcome.
I'm glad I'm not totally flaky ;-) Although I do find it hard sometimes to balance my own preferences against the desire not to to put to much strain on the tolerance of those that surround me.
@KatiePuckrikSmells And, by the way, L'heure folle would name-wise suit me just fine - who doesn't want to be a bit folle on, say, a boring same-old-same-old Wednesday? It would render some much needed class to an everyday run-of-the-mill existence. I guess that's what I'm on the look-out for: Something with class. With room, although no requirement, for a tiny fruit or two ;-)
I love Miss Dior Chérie! I think it's flowery and fresh and suits my personality. It reminds me of spring and Paris (I love the commercials for it), which is great as I've been to Paris during spring time. It makes me feel a little more like a French chic. :)
I agree with @Butterflyerika8: i really like miss dior cherie it is sweet but not too much like other perfums are.
Hi Katie - the first time I sprayed Miss Dior Cherie I thought it was fabulous, so I bought it and it didn't seem the same at all, so I gave it to my neice - is it true that they make the tester bottle of fragrance more powerful?
@thesoapmaker1 It's a myth that the tester is any different to the perfume sold to customers. I have a few tester bottles in my collection (Dior Diorella, Bulgari Black), and it's the same stuff.
It might be that you tried a different concentration of Miss Dior Cherie than the one you ended up buying. In the UK it comes in in pure parfum as well as the edt and edp.
@unlinedwork I love how you can really stamp a memory of a place or a person with a fragrance. Now you'll always think of France when you smell your Miss DC.
I am not a big fan of these very sugary scents, though I will admit to a weakness for Britney Spears Circus Fantasy - have you sniffed this yet? There's something about it that just keeps me coming back for more.
@Peregrine77 Fantasy does have a more-ish sugaryness...but then I smell the fancy schmancy bon bons like Serge Lutens Un Bois Vanille, and I can't go back to Britney!
i want miss dior sooo bad,ive been bragging bout it for yrs. i went to buy it in greenpoint brooklyn once and they said it was discontinued.i cried..literally. lol,im glad shes back...and i want her baaad...thanks katie,ur awesome...ps i smell too!
@realfam1969 Well, they were giving you a bum steer - Miss Dior Chérie has never been discontinued. Perhaps they were thinking of Miss Dior, an older perfume that is hard to find.
Kelly Calèche strikes me as an intellectual scent. It's almost eerie to smell that dry, vegetal leather wafting off the skin. I like it, but not on me - something about that intersection of tea/tobacco/leather/whatever makes me feel a little ill! But not because it's a bad smell - it's just not for me.
okay, so i tried the new miss dior cherie Eau de Toilette which is suppoed to be a "dazzling spring floral interpretation of the classic Miss Dior Chérie". I think they took the popcorn out cause I like this one WAY better. The perfume is all weird caramel popcorn..ick. I can't find a list of the notes in the edt, but it has to be alittle different. anyone know?
nycballerina - the notes for the EdT are the same as the EdP, but the treatment is "fresher and lighter", according to the PR bumf. I just applied the samples I have of both, and can testify that the EdT is indeed more sheer.
When I was in London last week - I saw that they also sell a pure parfum version of Miss Dior Chérie! Presumably, that's full-on strawberry/popcorn/patchouli, baby!
yeah, eventually that wretched popcorn came back out. my inner-hippie digs patchouli so it must be the caramel popcorn that grosses me out - oh john galliano!
If it's the patchouli you're after, I enjoy it in these pretty perfumes:
Bulgari Jasmin Noir
Gucci for Her
Yves Saint Laurent Elle
These are all richer and less overtly fruity than Miss Dior Chérie (ie, more "womanly") - try the EdT & EdP formulations of each to see which you prefer.
And a sideways slide from Miss Dior Chérie (keeping the patch, but still staying with the fruitiness) would be YSL Parisienne.
One thing's for sure - they didn't have sweet/fruity perfumes like Miss Dior Chérie in the 50s - those came along in the 90s, thanks to the magic of advances in chemistry!
hey katie! your channels are great. I love daisy by marc jacobs, it fruity, young and clean I absolutely love it. Ive got 2 bottles. Im a huge escada fan. I looovvveee fruity perfumes. Like strawberry, and melons. I like estee lauder pleasures exotic as well. What fruity scents do you suggest for me? And Im 21 if that helps.
And I am thinking about getting the Marc Jacobs rain splash perfume since I like fruity smells? Is this fruity? Would this count as being fruity> or is it even fruity at all? What is it like? Can you help me? thanks gurl!
b21p - Marc Jacobs Rain Splash is a great idea for your, and I wouldn't have come up with it if you hadn't mentioned it. It's got that cucumber freshness along with strawberries (not very rain-like, but there you go!).
Also check out Miss Dior Chérie L'eau and D&G Anthologie #3 L'Impératrice
I smell honeysuckle (not listed as description) and some baked strawberry dipped in honey. Very warm fragrance. Lasting is well into the range of 5 hours (on me). longer on clothing.
Miss Dior Cherie smells exactly like this body lotion that they sell at Target. It is made by Soap & Glory. Its the original body butter in the pink tub. So if you like the perfume and want to layer up then you should go check it out. It will be a lot cheaper. Anywho, I'm in the same boat a GeminiAGogo... sometimes I love this and sometimes it smell very... ugh!!
Haven't had a whiff of Miss Dior Cherie, but i completely agree with the Lola statement, it is like being punched in the face with fruity drawer liners. No thanks mr. Jacobs..
A baby-whore version of Strawberry Shortcake? Eh sums it up...Although I actually like it...Not usually a fruity or floral person but eh, I like it...
I have yet to experience this fragrance. But the way you describe it almost makes it sound young in a charming way, like a Betsey Johnson creation, crazy and amusing.
I have never finished a bottle of perfume in my life out of pure love of the way it makes me smell. People are always taking cleansing happy whiffs of me when I wear this Miss....I love the sweet and musky blend. I love it...love.
no, no, NO! I LOATHE this fragrance. I hate it on me..and on anyone else. On a flight to London the flightattn was wearing this and I wanted to puke everytime she walked by. I can smell this crap a mile away. All I smell is that caramel popcorn. I think this is the most groddie frag EVAH! I don't know why I pick up on the caramel. Hate it, HATE IT, hate it! Makes everyone stink!

Agree, this perfume smells so cheap, like something you can buy at a drugstore. If it wasn't for the brand name, I really think it wouldn't be nearly as popular as it is. Worst part is the lingering cloying fruity-ness that even relentless scrubbing with soap can't get off! Eek.

@xandria20 That's just about the best thing ever: "a strawberry lollipop in heat"!

got this too as a sample...i like it much more than lola too at first smell at least and also it reminds me of what would be worn in Paris, where I was a couple months ago..however, i find something superficial about this, like it tries to hard to be something, that is why I don't think i like it
janiekendle 1 year ago
I actually like it! I was really surprised that I do because I'm not a pink bow person du tout. But of the sweet florals, this one is surprisingly fresh. I use the EDT so maybe that's why i don't find it as overpowering as some people do.

babydollface18 1 year ago
I totally hate the perfume right away when you spray it, but I've come to love it and I feel confident wearing it. Also, I get a lot of compliments when I wear it. Espescially when I hug people ^^
I adjust my use of products just to make sure nothing clashes with it's smell. Luckily it goes with most shampoo scents and body lotions ^^
punksrule4life 1 year ago
@punksrule4life It definitely takes a good few minutes with most perfumes for the alcohol smell to burn off and for the scent to start to heat up and bloom on your skin.
You make a good point about needing to be aware of how the scents of hair and body products might clash with your perfume. I absolutely love the smell of Moroccan Oil hair products, but I had to stop using the shampoo, because the smell competed with my perfumes. Moroccan Oil should do a perfume!
KatiePuckrikSmells 1 year ago
@KatiePuckrikSmells Yeah, I know about the alcohol smell, but the super sweet smell that... Ugh..! But sweet smells seem to suite me perfectly as long as it's a bit fresh too. Any recommendations? Miss Dior Chèrie is a bit expencive and doesn't really fit in a poor student's budget xD
punksrule4life 1 year ago
Tangy scents kind of bug me, like Brittney Spears' original Fantasy perfume, it has that sweet tart scent that rubs me the wrong way, I've heard you say "it smells like shampoo but shampoo that makes me angry" and now I get what you are saying, the tartness of the perfume makes me feel like that.

I find it kind of addictive.. almost everytime Im in a department store I would smell it.. though that has decreased recently. I find it really.. nice? and yummy, but thats also the point.. while I probably wouldn't get annoyed by it, I dont want to smell edible (no huge love for fruity florals here either, it's not me) and in total, no real idea why, to me it smells slightly snobbish. lol. :D But still, I like it.
flexiplnt 1 year ago
Strawberry pixie sticks is sooo true! I do like this perfume though!
TheRitaWay 1 year ago
I must say, that this is my ALL-TIME favorite perfume. By just trying it at a store doesn't give it's justice. It's not too fruity or floral-y in my opinion. It also has some sophistication to it.
I had a 3.4 fl ounce bottle and I used it all up in 7 months! I NEVER use up a perfume so fast.
Like I said, this perfume is my favorite and I will continue to re-purchase it.
headstrongkindagirl1 1 year ago

I'm not huge fan of perfumes and colognes and smelly stuff like that but the first time I smelled a sample of Miss Dior Cherie in a magazine I fell in love! The only problem I have with this perfume is the price...
pinkfurball1101 1 year ago
@pinkfurball1101 Those "eureka!" moments are great. You might try e-tailers for cheaper deals.
KatiePuckrikSmells 1 year ago
I like it - to the point of loving it. I'm full aware that I'm way outside the intended market with my almost 44 years of age - but I cannot help myself - it's comforting and soothing and takes the edge of tough days at work and helps me maintain the illusion that I''m the kind of "girl" that Miss Dior Cherie really fits - a true darling, a cherie. I'm no cherie, no no. But I am a perfume schizofrenic who also loooooves super green and super dry chypre fragrances. Hmmm... Should I seek help?
Junichild 1 year ago
@Junichild No help required for you - you seem perfectly comfortable in your perfume identity.
I just thought of an interesting blend of "super green/super dry" and berries you might investigate, with is Cartier X L'Heure Folle
KatiePuckrikSmells 1 year ago
@KatiePuckrikSmells Thanks for the recommendation! Unfortunately, L'heure folle doesn't seem to be available in my neck of the woods, Denmark. Delices, Panthere, Must, Baiser de Dragon (who would want to??) and Eau de seem available. Other recommendations along the same lines are welcome.
I'm glad I'm not totally flaky ;-) Although I do find it hard sometimes to balance my own preferences against the desire not to to put to much strain on the tolerance of those that surround me.
Junichild 1 year ago
@KatiePuckrikSmells And, by the way, L'heure folle would name-wise suit me just fine - who doesn't want to be a bit folle on, say, a boring same-old-same-old Wednesday? It would render some much needed class to an everyday run-of-the-mill existence. I guess that's what I'm on the look-out for: Something with class. With room, although no requirement, for a tiny fruit or two ;-)
Junichild 1 year ago
I love Miss Dior Chérie! I think it's flowery and fresh and suits my personality. It reminds me of spring and Paris (I love the commercials for it), which is great as I've been to Paris during spring time. It makes me feel a little more like a French chic. :)
I agree with @Butterflyerika8: i really like miss dior cherie it is sweet but not too much like other perfums are.

I adore this scent, the sugary ones always keep me coming back for more <3
jadegrrrl 1 year ago
Hi Katie - the first time I sprayed Miss Dior Cherie I thought it was fabulous, so I bought it and it didn't seem the same at all, so I gave it to my neice - is it true that they make the tester bottle of fragrance more powerful?
thesoapmaker1 1 year ago
@thesoapmaker1 It's a myth that the tester is any different to the perfume sold to customers. I have a few tester bottles in my collection (Dior Diorella, Bulgari Black), and it's the same stuff.
It might be that you tried a different concentration of Miss Dior Cherie than the one you ended up buying. In the UK it comes in in pure parfum as well as the edt and edp.
KatiePuckrikSmells 1 year ago
It's honestly my most favourite perfume of ALL time along with Dolce & Gabbana's L'Imperatrice!!

@realfam1969 Well, they were giving you a bum steer - Miss Dior Chérie has never been discontinued. Perhaps they were thinking of Miss Dior, an older perfume that is hard to find.
KatiePuckrikSmells 1 year ago
I really love Miss Dior Cherie, but mostly because it reminds me of Disneyland. Go figure!
My current favorites are Kelly Caleche by Hermes and Pure Tiffany by T&Co., and I'd love to get your opinion of those two. :)
salonrosalie 1 year ago
Kelly Calèche strikes me as an intellectual scent. It's almost eerie to smell that dry, vegetal leather wafting off the skin. I like it, but not on me - something about that intersection of tea/tobacco/leather/whatever makes me feel a little ill! But not because it's a bad smell - it's just not for me.
I haven't tried Pure Tiffany.

okay, so i tried the new miss dior cherie Eau de Toilette which is suppoed to be a "dazzling spring floral interpretation of the classic Miss Dior Chérie". I think they took the popcorn out cause I like this one WAY better. The perfume is all weird caramel popcorn..ick. I can't find a list of the notes in the edt, but it has to be alittle different. anyone know?
nycballerina 2 years ago
nycballerina - the notes for the EdT are the same as the EdP, but the treatment is "fresher and lighter", according to the PR bumf. I just applied the samples I have of both, and can testify that the EdT is indeed more sheer.
When I was in London last week - I saw that they also sell a pure parfum version of Miss Dior Chérie! Presumably, that's full-on strawberry/popcorn/patchouli, baby!
KatiePuckrikSmells 2 years ago
yeah, eventually that wretched popcorn came back out. my inner-hippie digs patchouli so it must be the caramel popcorn that grosses me out - oh john galliano!
nycballerina 2 years ago
If it's the patchouli you're after, I enjoy it in these pretty perfumes:
Bulgari Jasmin Noir
Gucci for Her
Yves Saint Laurent Elle
These are all richer and less overtly fruity than Miss Dior Chérie (ie, more "womanly") - try the EdT & EdP formulations of each to see which you prefer.
And a sideways slide from Miss Dior Chérie (keeping the patch, but still staying with the fruitiness) would be YSL Parisienne.
KatiePuckrikSmells 2 years ago
@nycballerina Oh, and I just remembered 2 more patchouli-based fragrances:
Juliette Has a Gun Lady Vengeance
Kat Von D Sinner (low ball version of Lady V)
KatiePuckrikSmells 2 years ago
I love Miss Dior Chérie! makes me think of the 50's french glamor, but it's not so overpowering that everybody within 100 feet can smell you.
HilaryHeartbreaker 2 years ago
One thing's for sure - they didn't have sweet/fruity perfumes like Miss Dior Chérie in the 50s - those came along in the 90s, thanks to the magic of advances in chemistry!
