  • Wow. This is their "Stairway to Heaven". Amazing band. Always loved them from day one.

  • What an awesome show to play...I bet they remember that one fondly. I'm sure many are a blur to them...but by the sound of that crowd and the looks of the stage, I bet that is one that sticks in their minds. Love them.♥

  • What a great voice (set of lungs)!

  • ilove heart gi joe 989.

  • I saw them in Medford Oregon , 1977 or 1978. Steve Fossen had a broken arm and played anyway. Damn he was good 2. I went back stage after and they were having a catered pot luck meal on pic nic benches. I ate with them and got all of their autographs. It was a trio out door event with Heart , Bob Welch and Little River band. I was a teenager and will never forget it! Ann Wilson has a magical voice. Beauty and talent all rolled into 1. Wtg Heart u have always been a favorite of mine!

  • @loriscrazilife WOW, nice,I would have loved to have been there!!Sounds a once in lifetime night, awesome!!

  • @loriscrazilife Excellent story!

  • you think that's funny,my brother was the mngr. for the co. I was driving 4,and he said that he had always thought that I would end up with someone like her, hah ya right!! She's a little out of my league, but a real sweetheart. no pun intended. They definitely rock'd the house that night tho. sweet memories.

  • @Gonzo9245 ; D

  • Heart was in St.Louis a couple of years ago, I drove some of the PA System in,so I was backstage smokin a cigarette, Nancy was on the phone, what a doll, she got off the phone and walked over and introduced herself and I couldn't even speak!! lol, Nancy if your ever in St.Lou again and i see ya I'll try to at least get hello out.sorry.lol

  • @Gonzo9245 Lol,I like that.I would have talked,but would have stomped out my cigarette. : )

  • these girls really prove the tale of sisters singing perfection

  • Perfect!

  • I love it that these two can really sing well, without any artificial vocal enhancing help. Much much respect. And they rock!!!!

  • @DobsonAnna Absolutely, no pitch correction required for them, speaks to their intelligence!

  • sweet ass sweet!!!! ty4p and tyvm <3 (;

  • i was 3 when this song came out and it reminds me of my parents when they were young, they were from a wonderful time

  • What a set of pipes these sisters have ! Sold out show here in Montreal tonight!

  • @blaster1985 Awesome,Home again,can't wait for Vancouver!

  • @blaster1985 bet it was great! Saw them in 1975; wow!!!!

  • Oh Canada

  • I think I agree with Holdenon3 - it almost seems like that is a 3rd part - someone else doing falsetto and a 3rd harmony that just backs way off when Ann comes in. Doesn't matter really but I don't think thats prerecorded vocal part. They are great regardless and played with the best musicians.

  • @ajmultimedia They could have a harmonizer with delay but A and N don't require any tricks due to the fact their the real deal, most likely a falsetto from Leese!

  • wtf her voice never goes out of key even for a brief second lol.

  • Nancy Wilson made a point of saying at the concert I saw her in this summer that everything they were doing up on stage was "All Live" - no trickery or Pro tools being used - and it did appear to be that way especially with the singing. Ann Wilson did not sound or appear to be overdubbed/lip syncing at all. Thanks for taking the time to download all your videos! All good things :)

  • @iiiitube I think this is rare, they have always been live, except in a few TV studio takes,"How can I refuse" is one example where the band is playing to back tracks while Ann is singing.

  • @iiiitube

I'm not sure my first comment make it through, so I'm posting again.

The voice you hear at 3:26 is a male falsetto. Nancy, clearly, comes in a moment later.

Since everyone's is playing live, would it make any sense to have one voice pre-recorded? Nope. Watch it again, iiiitube. You'll see. (And hear!) :-)

  • @iiiitube Your more than welcome, and I have never seen any fake shit from A and N..Salt of the Earth..case closed.

  • Well...is it just me? Or...did you see what I saw? Just curious what you thought...I will still love this band forever :)

  • Check out 3:26...Nancy's harmony singing part can be heard...but she is not singing or moving her lips. Was Nancy lipsyncing - I find that hard to believe knowing how important live performance is to this band.

  • @iiiitube I highly doubt it,but we have all done it,that is approached the mic then decided to fake it for a moment for many reasons, lip syncing was not a Heart thing though.

  • @lovesheart I know they are the real deal and pride themselves on that fact...that is why this video caught my attention...it is clear that Nancy's background singing can be heard at 3:26, but Nancy is not at the mic yet singing when you can hear her voice.

  • @iiiitube Huh..interesting ..I will have to look at that.

  • @iiiitube

No. The high voice you hear at 3:26 is a male falsetto. Nancy comes in a fraction of a second later -- just as shown.

    Watch it again, silly!

  • Check out 3:26...Nancy's harmony singing part can be heard...but she is not singing or moving her lips. Was Nancy lipsyncing???

  • This lovely song, which helped me endure through my late teens (I was born in 1959), still makes my eyes wet:). God bless Ann and Nancy - -

  • All these years later, this song still gives me chills.

These ladies are a gift to us.

I have owned this on 8 track, cassette, vinyl and now c.d. It pleases me to let my younger wife hear female rock perfected.

Thanks ladies, I truly love you.

  • if you are not moved by this song you arent human! Today's musicians need to listen to this, real music not the computerized crap you hear today

  • best version of this on the tube I've found. thanks

  • Hermosa como siempre...paso de vez en cuando...las amo! heartargentina vox com

  • I saw them at Harrah's in San Diego friday night. If anything, they are better than when I saw them 30 years ago, and then they could reproduce, live-the sound of their records-as if they were in a recording studio. Incredible talent.

  • @ehairgrove You said it,they reproduce their studio sound live, and that's a feat for sure!

  • @lovesheart , Since you love them I will say this-Ann and Nancy obviously loved us- the audience-as much as they love each other. I saw Pat Benatar at the same place not long-ago. Spyder and the band were flawless and Pat's Voice was perfect, however, she could barely hide her contempt for the audience.

  • @ehairgrove Wow,and Nance comes right over to me and I touch her arm, what a difference!!

  • @lovesheart Friday, Heart decided to let someone out of the audience get on stage and sing. A girl of about 18 was chosen. She was predictably horrible-but Ann sang into the mic with her and smoothed out the edges. The whole time, the girl shook with joy and fear. At the end, the girl was so happy she cried. Touched by this, Nancy shed tears as well. When the girl came down, she skipped around the venue like a five year old-with the most joyful smile I've ever seen. Quite touching.

  • @ehairgrove Aww,that's so effin cool, and so Wilson sisterish. Thanks for sharing that.I dig how all the music pushes a positive message, writing with imagination and always with dignity.

  • @ehairgrove WOW....that'd be awesome, if someone had video

of that moment and posted it here. Someone,.....anyone???

  • Beautiful voice!

  • "for the life of me I don't know the reason why......" sigh. yeah.

  • Heart, in my humble opinion, will always be what rock music is all about. I've followed them sice their first album and they have never disappointed me. If "music" were like this today, we would be a much happier people. Thanks Ann and Nancy for the incredible memories you've given us with your unbelievable music and talent.

  • @breid1966 Yes,what happened to good music?

  • @lovesheart Oh Cmon, Lady Gaga, Fergie, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Pink, and Brittney are holding it down for the woman of today. GO Brittney. You do know I'm kidding right ?

  • @Tom6093 Grin ; )

  • I think it was 1980 or 81 when I saw heart open for ELO at the Pontiac Silverdome in Pontiac Michigan. I was already a for of heart but a bigger fan of ELO untill that night.

Heart rocked 80+ thousend people. Without a doubt the best show I've ever seen. ElO was good but Heart blew them away, hands down!

  • another great band out of Seattle.wish i lived their

  • @alcaholicdemon1 Canadian band,dude.

  • They are from Seattle. Ann went to Canada a little after they started because her lover (the manager) went to Canada to avoid the draft and the rest of the band followed rather than lose Ann (understandable!). They stayed for a while before returning to the US and the rest is history, as they say!

  • I remember when this concert was aired on TV. I could't wait to see it. Such a great concert. I taped it from TV and still have it! Ann Wilson is the best rock vocalist of all time.

  • Ann Wilson is the greatest female vocalist in rock history!

  • I totally agree. She has no equal, still doesn't - saw her last fall, she still rocks!

  • @RangRang68: You are so right! Ann Wilson is Queen of Rock!

  • @RangRing68 - well, there's Gracie, don't forget......... hard to call!

  • so hot

  • "hearts rolling in, then taken back on the tide..." nice tender bittersweet way to evoke the ebb & flow of one's life, of all lives over the countless generations - Ann even shows a little emotion when she sings it, (2:38) she feels it herself - I have always admired this woman -

  • I never thought of the lyric in that way, makes perfect sense though, this is the song I think of when I think of Ann and Nancy.Singing and playing in perfect balance, yet indivduals.

  • it has been pointed out to me the sweet smooth way that voices blend when the singers are of the same family and have vocal timbres that are similar -- but moreover, yes, as you say, as two individuals in harmony, Ann & Nancy are lovely to contemplate

  • It's so nice to see that someone still apprecieates great music classic such as HEART!! Music today cannot put a dent on the classics of our times!! Now this is music that has meaning!! HEART is one of my highest fav's thank you Lovesheart for posting!!

  • I saw Heart 3 times in the 80's they were amazing. Dog & Butterfly has always been one of my favorite songs and they do it great live!

  • I saw them on this tour, The Dog & Butterfly lp/tour circa 1978-79 and they had a billing dispute w/ "Firefall the other band performing that night as to who was the opening act & who was the main act & it was decided to let Heart be the headliner, although"Firefall was good they were not as hot as Heart espec at this time which was their prime in my opinion, right before the whole band imploded and they almost lost it all. Just like Fleetwood mac when you mix bus & personal look what happens.

  • Great story,and good point too.Cheers friend.

  • I saw them on this tour, as well. Interesting side note: Firefall's bassist from that tour, Mark Andes, joined Heart in the early 1980s.

  • i was there in altos de chavon .. heart rock the amphitheater in 1982 they played over 25 songs

they were the opening for santana.

i can tell you ann wilson have an amazing voice..

one the best rock band..beautiful lyrics

  • Saw them at the IA fair Sunday night with Journey. All together amazing concert! Ann's vocal power continues to render me speechless. No one could ever match her!

  • But any way I got to meet them in the early 80's and see them in our hometown of Seattle. They are remarkable!

  • I love how people say they are big Heart fans but dont know the difference between Ann and Nacy.

  • No hay diferencia solo complemento .Y claro, Ann tiene una voz mas potente que hace la bella diferencia-

  • I don't understand why this song wasn't a bigger/huge hit! It's a GREAT song, great lyrics and sung by none other than Nancy Heart! This is one of my all time favorite songs! WTG HEART!!

  • One of my fav's too,but sung by Ann not Nance.

  • i have to thank my ex husband for introducing me to this song. totally beautiful lyrics & vocals!!

  • I remember getting this album when it came out, I was maybe 9 or 10 years old. I recall opening the ablum and seeing the picture of the band, I was so in LOVE with Ann and Nancy Wilson!!! Then I put it on my record player and I was lost forever..WOW, I never had heard anything so cool..I was a young metal head into Judas Priest and UFO and Rush, I secretly adored HEART and these two beautiful ladies!!! I got to see the at AstroWorld (Houston TX) when I was in 8th grade...Man, they are awesome!!

  • Great story,thanx 4 shareing

  • @MRmannysin Dude, were we friends in high school? lol Priest, ufo, rush, pink floyd, led zep, but my record collection wouldn't be complete without Heart, quite simply, the BEST female rockers EVER !!!

  • @MRmannysin I was there that night, with MY sister, who has now passed away; it was a night to remember forever.

  • Ann Wilson, Pat Benatar, Martha Davis, in my not so humble opinion, were, are the best!

  • hmmm.

I'd have to sat Pat first. Then Ann. Lastly Martha.

Not to slight any of them. But Pat could just blow anything up.

  • i love u so much ann this is grant jeter u r so talant ps:now you inter my life

  • Nancy is so talented and so beautiful.......

  • One of the BESTS musics of Heart ! ;)

  • Angels!!

  • An Earthbound Angel,,,singing!!

  • Just Amazing ....

     Marius606 Arad - Romania

  • Those beautiful brown eyes darting around, I love her so much! This performance really showcases not only Ann's incredible vocal instrument but also the Wilson sister's angelic harmonizing.

  • I have loved this song forever. The Harmony along draws me in, but the subliminal message is deep. Keep trying my frineds.

  • What's the "subliminal message" as you hear it? By "subliminal" do you mean "spirit" or "intent" or "meaning"?

The reason I ask is that you can hear a song without "listening" to it (the words). Yet, from the way the music perfectly accompanies the lyric, we understand the song's meaning regardless. Is that what you meant? Or is there a "subliminal meaning" that may be going unheard to the attentive listener? Just curious. :)

  • I remember seeing this concert on MTV years ago and have been looking for it ever since. Would have been a great concert to put on DVD.

  • Such a amazing Group!! Ann And Nancy are still the best!

  • It's a little old school for my taste, but im kinda young, so what do i know?! :I

  • These two amazing women can rock the hell out of us even today. PLEASE NEVER STOP GIRLS!!!

  • I love this song! The most beautiful Heart song..keep rockin' Ann and Nancy! Never stop..

  • Concert for the Americas... JuMm... I believe that was in 1982, Dominican Republic - Altos de Chavon??

Pardon me if i am wrong....

also, do you have more vids of this concert? I would love to see them here

Thanks lovesheart, you never dissapoint me!

  • Thanx Haylie, and I believe I have posted the entire concert!

  • Thank you so much for posting this!!!!! Ann is one of the most talented female vocalists ever! They did not have "pitch correctors" or any of that BS back then. You heard the real voice LIVE. What an amazing talent. (PS Love Nancy TOO!)

  • How I love Ann & Nancy's harmony on this song!

  • What a beautiful tormented artist that Ann is. (seemingly so from the lyrics to this song as well as others)

    Thanks for posting this, Loveheart.

  • This song really moves me... a heartful thank you from Italy.

  • Your welcome, you know everyday I meet more and more people and musicians that have been touched or influenced by Hearts music..true legends.

  • this song bring so many memories of my jr. high era!! Love you Heart!!

  • i am 47 years old i saw them at the boston esplinad in 1980 i think. Its hard to remember the year but when i heard this song i was amazed as I am still now, I love them them both, and they should be in the rock n'roll hall of fame. thanks for posting it, its beautiful as they are.
