No, actually Dan Hardy landed plenty of good shots when they were up I was at the Fight sitting a few rows away from the octagon. At one point GSP hit hardy in the chin and Hardy laughed at him. Only reason GSP won was because he wouldnt let Hardy fight him standing up and the officials wouldnt stand them up because he's GSP. Hardy didnt tap because hes a monster, not only that but GSP didnt have them locked right dont take away from Hardy because the popular guy won.

First, Hardy is not a "great" fighter. He's been taken down by much smaller and less skilled opponents and has been pushed to decisions when recently facing definite second-tier fighters. Not exactly "great" stuff. What he brings is good chin, fast heavy hands, good technical standup and very good condtioning. What he lacks is a solid ground game, which is a huge hole against the likes of GSP. Hardy also lacks the experience on the big stage, which every fighter will say matters.
Yes and No. What makes GSP truly unique is the variety of tools he possesses to setup those takedowns. GSP is almost always successful getting a guy to the floor, because he gets his opponent guessing what's coming next and there's little chance they'll get it right.

Yeah, I really think that Hardy should be fighting Kosheck and the winner of that fight get a shot at GSP. It's all good though, why I don't believe Hardy to be in the same category as that of GSP, he does have the ability to get a KO if it lands but don't see that happening. I think that Alves and Fitch are much better more well rounded top WW fighters than that of what Dan Hardy is and we all seen how GSP owned both those guys.
To me, I just see a lot of other top level competition in the WW division that I would like to see Dan Hardy fight first before getting at GSP. GSP might not possess the heavy hands of Hardy, but he certainly can put guys on the floor with his hands alone. Ask his most recent hands-only victims, Alves and Fitch, if you need proof that he can floor you with one shot. Or look again at the Hughes, Sherk and Hieron fights.

First, Hardy is not a "great" fighter. He's been taken down by much smaller and less skilled opponents and has been pushed to decisions when recently facing definite second-tier fighters. Not exactly "great" stuff. What he brings is good chin, fast heavy hands, good technical standup and very good condtioning. What he lacks is a solid ground game, which is a huge hole against the likes of GSP. Hardy also lacks the experience on the big stage, which every fighter will say matters.

Yes and No. What makes GSP truly unique is the variety of tools he possesses to setup those takedowns. GSP is almost always successful getting a guy to the floor, because he gets his opponent guessing what's coming next and there's little chance they'll get it right.

All thsi talk about Hardy having excellent boxing skills is true, no doubt. But, he really depends on those heavy hands to make himself competitive. His other skills are at a much lower level than his fast technical hands.
It's a simple fact he gets easily taken down, even by smaller opponents. GSP matches Hardy for size. GSP will take him down and there's no getting up.

Yeah, I really think that Hardy should be fighting Kosheck and the winner of that fight get a shot at GSP. It's all good though, why I don't believe Hardy to be in the same category as that of GSP, he does have the ability to get a KO if it lands but don't see that happening. I think that Alves and Fitch are much better more well rounded top WW fighters than that of what Dan Hardy is and we all seen how GSP owned both those guys.

To me, I just see a lot of other top level competition in the WW division that I would like to see Dan Hardy fight first before getting at GSP. I would like to see Hardy face guys like Kosheck, Johnson, Alves, Fitch....any of those fights I believe would be good match ups for Hardy and would really show us where he's at. I also want to see GSP get a step up in competition and see him as the one challenging himself and being the underdog for once....

I still want to see that bout and believe that it would be the biggest selling fight in UFC history. everyone says that in every fight Hardy has, it is getting old. This is the only time that you could be right. But I doubt it.
