I have loads of burns from hot chains during arm wraps.

Yes, I still get burnt, but not nearly as much. Check out work safety stores or welding equipment specialists or any other store that is likely to sell industrial safety equipment. At these stores enquire about fire-retardant materials, gloves etc for welding or handling of hot materials and they should point you in the right direction.

Yeah, usually I do. I've been to the last couple of Easter ones and the last New Years one, it was where I first saw fire-spinning. I was hoping to go this year too, but unfortunately I've been unable to get the time off of work. Oh well, maybe next year man.

Thanks man, I think my style is definitely starting to emerge, it's kinda a shame it's really feminine, but hell, it feels good to me. The final settings for the video were as you recommended, it's an MP4 video compressed with the h.264 codec at about 2000kbps. I'm pretty happy with the quality it came out with, especially in HQ.

Yeah I am, my parents were sick of me slowly looking more and more like somebody who self-harms, but I didn't really care enough to do anything about it myself. I mean, chicks dig scars, and with a face like mine, I need all the scars I can get. But my parents thought otherwise and brought me a pair of wrist guards and made me promise to wear them. I love my Mum and Dad, they're so considerate.

i fire poui my self. but i can never get my wick to stay lit for a long period of time. in the beginning there would be alot of splashes when i spin it. what type of wick do you use?

My wicks don't last very long either, maybe a couple of minutes. In this video I'm using really old and crappy cylindrical wicks, which don't hold that much fuel and are quite small, hence the puny looking flames compared to everybody else. I can't afford flashy poi yet, but I will be able to soon, so expect a video of me with some ridiculous flameage happening. If lots of fuel is spinning off your poi at the start, they may have a problem with absorption and retention. How old are they?

What type of wicks? The wicks can also soften up with usage, allowing them to absorb more fuel, while at first they might be very tightly bound meaning that they can't soak as much.

It's on a very long to do list. I've had so many tutorial requests, but I've been so busy with my new job and training that I haven't had that much time, plus I've been trying to get a decent video editing program and good compression format for youtube quality so any tutorials I made from then on would be of higher video quality. Well, I've done those things now, so I'm going to get back to making tutorials as soon as possible. Celebrate in the streets!

Hmm indeed... seems very possible. When you say 1.5 hybrids, what type of hybrid are we talking? I'm visualising an isolation/pendulum hybrid, but you can hybrid pendulums with anything that operates within the unit-circle, although it can get a bit tight. Also, the bth hand, is that doing the pendulum or the rotation?...

...man, this is the problem with tech poi, especially hybrids. Terminology wise, you pretty much have to outline what each hand is doing, where it's doing it, and how the hands relate to each-other in consideration to time and space. The further you get into tech, the more convoluted its' communication becomes... I guess I'll just watch your video, poi is so much easier to understand visually. I kinda miss the days when everything was name-able in simple terminology.
