I am part of a wide group of "fans" who have many airchecks of the WABC from the 60's and 70's and lived through much of the greatest period in AM radio..WABC and WNEW. Ingram was, in my opinion, the Steve Allen of classic AM radio..so damn funny, occasionally risque and actually the 'boss" of many greats like Lundy, Murrow and Anderson amoung others. I was at Wagner College on Staten Island when the lights went out..we had power!
Amen to gsharrad. The biggest irony in the Aquarius intro is not that he blew the title of the record but that he did not hit the post. For Ingram...unbelievable. Best contemporary format jock ever.
Dan Ingram made me want to be a DJ. Unfortunately I went to college and Broadcasting and DJs were being phased out by automation. But he is the greatest!
This is great! We are so lucky to have a video of this program as well as all the original airchecks floating around these days that we do... what memories! I only wish there were more recordings that were unedited! So glad to see his more recent interviews! Too bad this doesn't seem to have the second part, I'll go look further...Thanks for posting!
I received my first radio back in 1976, it was a small transistor type portable, which only received AM. I listened to WABC quite frequently, but will always remember Mr. Ingram's show, especially, the prologue at the end, which had Howard Cosell's show immediatley following.
I would love to hear listeners do their Dan Ingram impressions, not to mention more of his appearance with Joey. Anybody have the rest of the show to post?
He , Joey , does a 5 hour live radio 12-5am(internet stream from wor710,com w/podcasts) 5 days a week N Y city . funny various guests/friends in entertainment some authors .

Dan Ingram once talked the intro to Raydio's "You Can't Change That" by saying... and now a song "about a cement diaper".
