Leaves on a tree can be just like handwriting in pen and ink, a certain swirl of shapes repeated over and over to achieve density of foliage. You don't have to draw each leaf, it is actually better to give the illusion of leaves as you are dealing with a two-dimensional space where people view things differently that if they are actually looking at the three dimensional object in front of them (and how many of us do study each leaf on a tree?)
Argh Im really struggling with drawing a tree especially the leaves for my course work. Anyone got any tips for doing the leaves or can send me a link? Thanks. :)
@EarthChild5 look at the leaves in a picture on google or something. practice the general shape, then head to the paper and quickly sketch the shape repeatedly, overlapping where shadows are present. its a great way to have fun with it, after all, the human mind will think its seeing the leaves, its weird to explain, but try anyways and it will be awesome
