Imagine what the cost of water would become if we did replace all gas cars with water cars? We could live with less gas but could we survive without enough water?
I was thinking about all of the water vapor that would be released into the air as a result of it. imagine the damage all of that extra humidity could cause.
The byproduct of burning water IS water - your fuel comes back out of the engine in vapour form.
H20 is split with electrolysis into 2H and an O. These are then burnt to garner H20 again. Dirt in the engine might allow some CO2 or other compounds to form but generally the output is water.
NOW the thing is that in classical physics the energy required to SPLIT H2O is far greater than that we can get by BURNING it!

We only become a type 1 society when we can harness the power of this entire planet ,we will be star faring at that point.Type 2 can harness all the power of a star and Type 3 and entire galaxy.I don't have my source close at hand, or know if this theory is correct, but from what i read this is the general understanding.
GodlessPeace, correct is, the type 0...3 civil classifications bases on the capabilities of a civilisation to handle particular and increasing amounts of energy. Beside technical capabilities, there are socio-cultural implications connected with each stage of evolution. E.g. criminality and terrorism are incompatible with a type 1 civil, since any abuse of energy levels required for interstellar space travel could cause an ELE (Extinction Level Event) for the whole species.
I disagree with his scale of civilisations. What about civilisations that do not follow the same path as us? For example type 2 & 3 civs might not exist as there are other mechanisms for existance that do not realy on how much energy we can extract from our environment.
that civ 1, 2, 3, crap isn't the way E.T's classify themselves by... and nether will we when we reach those levels... give it 40 or so years noone will say it anymore

none. Ambient humidity is around 40% in a desert to 90+% in humid coastal zones or forests.
using water as a fuel would have almost no impact on humidity at all apart from in a local area (i.e. the air over a motorway).
Plants work by "sweating" water, that is why forests are more humid than deserts.
