  • white trash :)

  • (Pt 2 of 2) - I was away the first week of July, when they first start coming on, so the scouts found my raspberry patch IDEAL for all their friends to come and invade. After two weeks of spraying the critters several times a day starting July 10, JB's are now down about 75% in my raspberry patch (today is July 21. In fact, many are starting to see me coming with my Happy Juice bottle in hand and they fly away. They are getting smarter in spotting JB terrorists. GOOD!

  • Here's another tip for folks plagued with these nasty insects. I was reading on the Internet recently that it is VERY important to kill JB's as soon as they start coming on your plants, like the very FIRST WEEK. The author said that JB's send out scouts, and if they scout beetles find the food delicious and there's no threats, the scouts tell the rest of the little devils - "Head over to such and such spot. It's ripe for devouring!" (Pt 1 of 2)

  • I failed to mention something in the video clip. If one buys Wasp & Hornet spray to spray Japanes Beetles, try to find the spray that is NOT foam. It seems like more and more, retailers are selling spray that shoots a stream far with foam. Foam is great for spraying wasp and hornet's nests, but the foam doesn't turn to liquid fast enough to suit me, when I spray it into the generic spray bottle that I mix with water which then get used to spray the JB's.

  • Sir, Thank you so much for sharing your findings. Japanese beetles have been decimating my little sweet cherry trees and plum trees in western Michigan recently. They have also been curling my apple tree leaves and going after my wife's green bean plants. Now I know what to do. I also am going to put some grub killer application down on the ground in my tiny orchard to hopefully kill the Japanese beetle larvae. Got the idea that the larvae is in the ground off of another youtube video.
