Kodak Zi8 HD kills this, but its decent quality for the price.........I guess, its kinda like a cell phone video, but Im sure there are some good features to it. Personally the Kodak is more appealing, with the 1080p 720p 30 frames ps and 720p with 60 frames ps and the 5.0 mega pixel stills and different modes.....WVGA but the shake kills the footage of the zi8 even with image stabilization....so buy a tripod
@TechReviewer712 from what youve said about the Kodak, the Sony has all the same features.... excluding 720 in 60 fps. So how exactly is it better when they have all the same specs according to you? I would expect someone named "TechReviewer" to know a little more.
@TechReviewer712 dude, cell phone video? really? You should change your screenname because you don't know what you're talking about. And I love how you, techreviewer712, only have a review of a cell phone case. haha.
@TechReviewer712 dude why do u think your a tech reviewer why dont you review your stupid comment and shuv it so far up ur ass u cant even shit it out as far as i no how r u gunna call a cell phone video better than this dumbass
Do you think because a button says "HD" then it's HD ? It's still crap, it's HD relatively to the default LD, that's all... one minute of (real) HD video can take up to 30 MB, so I don't think Youtube will go that far.
I have a question. Can anyone tell me how much memory space you need for the sony webbie ? From what I saw it takes an SD card. How much memory do you need? I know that the battery is supposed to last 120mins. Can you actually film 120mins of footage ? Video files take up a lot of space I know. So how many gigs would you need on your SD card ?
find your facts before you post, and look like an idiot (no offence intended). All you need to do is export it, or not use the software at all, and import it into some sort of video editing software. All that is is a video management system, not for editing. And the reason its not in hd, is probably because you didnt change the setting to hd, you just press the button on the side, scroll over to video, then change it to 1080p
I have had this camera for about half a month now and it has been great! I know that anything bad you see with the test videos is YouTube, not the cam.
I agree. Video is a litte jittery, audio is poor. Tried filming some races. I was disappointed at the results. When outside it is hard to seen screen to capture what you are trying to shoot. The price is good but I was hoping for a better camera. I'd be willing to pay more for a better one. Anyone have any ideas.
haha just lik everyone else here this is kinda confirming i need one of these. Does anyone know if these can handle louder volumes than a normal cam could? I mean closeup concert type volumes almost...
I've been researching this camera for a while now and it's just the camera I'm looking for.
It has amazing video quality for such a cheap price, the only thing i'm worried about is the low light performance which I heard is crappy. Whatever, I'll bring a big light for night shots :)
great i been looking for something like the flip but it seems as thou the flip are getting dear every-time they release a new version this looks really good, check out my videos
Let me know if you got the same. I was looking at this and now im not sure if I did the right thing. Although, Im not sure about the built in battery!
if you move the cam it gets dodgy. There are a hundred vids on utube with moving cam. this one is good for what it tests. I need it to be mounted on a tripod anyway and this confirmed my suspicion that it's awesome for that.
cool, can you do one while doing some panning and zooming, I am really looking at buying this little camcorder. I have a Canon hf100 and a Panasonic hdc-sd1 for real movies, and an Aiptek GO-HD for point & shoot, but the Aiptek seem jittery, and the motorized zoom is loud as a matter of fact, the focus can be heard while recording too.
How about this Sony, can you do one indoor with sound to hear if it makes noise.
i used to have this camera, and it isn't youtubes fault, for some reason, this camera just records everything jittery. for that reason alone, i sold it, and got the canon fs100, it isn't HD, but it still looks nice, and is really small.
i love these tests

is an SD card sorta like a memory stick what is the difference
jeremymach2015 2 years ago
the type of memory media used on this camera is specific for this camera and can only be used on sony products. so regular sd cards wont work.
SqueeG19 2 years ago
this camera is sweet cuz u can also use it as a webcam.

u can only use memory stick duo for the memory card

I think you use the Sony Memory Stick Duo.

about 2 gigs will be enough room for over an hour if shooting in 720 HD, and 4 gigs gets about the same in 1080HD

Im taking my Webbie back. You cant edit your HD footage (like windows movie maker). So I uploaded a vid any way and it wasnt in HD at all.

well I am guessing because it writes it's files in mpeg format and movie maker doesn't read mpeg files (and movie maker sucks)

My dad bought me this camcorder first.
It worked good.
But then I got a Sony HDR-XR520V.
It has a 240GB hard drive.
It shoots 1920x1080 HD videos.
And, it takes 12.1 MP stills.
It is the best camcorder I've had so far.
I suggest it.
