  • I thought that I had lost this music forever last nov. you are such a blessing.

  • this is such a cute song ^^

  • I used to travel to gunnison with my family when I was little and my dad would always play C.W McCall, so I guess it brainwashed me into liking this kind of stuff (and I'm only 14!) I rode the silverton train once....and so this song always reminds me of it!

  • my god that tune brings back meneries

  • Long live the Rio Grande, mainline throught the rockies.

  • nice video, my uncle works on that train so I go on it a lot but it never gets old

  • good song

  • This has to be my favorite CW McCall song.

  • @TrevComix he did another train song too about the #5 the Galloping Goose

  • Songs about trains are the best songs about vehicular transport.

  • OMG yes!! After hard searching I finally found the song. I love that fucking chorus!

I havent heard this in 10 years.

  • Meee, tooo.....but, it's been longer than ten years. ....

  • Haha, I posted that a year ago..Thanks for bringing me back.

This song is an underrated classic!!!

  • Good video

  • If you like trains, you need to come to PA to the Railroad Museum. They give a history of railroads and let you climb on all of these classic trains. It's in Strasburg, PA -just outside of the city of Lancaster (heading east).

  • nice

  • This is a fine example of William D. Fries' commercial songwriting, in this case to promote the Durango-Silverton narrow-gage run for the Denver & Rio Grande Western; the Durango & Silverton is now an independent short line.

  • Nice vid. I have always wanted to see the D&S steam train. I have ridden on the Virginia City Steam train in Virginia City, Nevada. I have also ridden on the steam trains at the Nevada State RR museume in Carson City, Nevada & I have also ridden on the Roaring Camp steam train in Felton, California.

  • If you like these trains, might I recommend the Tennessee Valley Railroad in Chattanooga, Tennessee. They operate 2 2-8-0 Consolodations. #630(Alco 1904), and #610(BLH 1952), which was the last steam locomotive built for domestic use in the USA. They also opeate 2 U.S.A.F. RSC-1's, 2 US Army GP7-L's, and S.R. RS3, E8, and GP30, and they are working to restore S.R. #4501. They also operate an N.C.& St.L GP7. Their Longest excursions are 100 miles RT dowm to Summerville, Georgia.

  • I will have to look into that.

  • The old 3 foot gauge is my favorite kinda Gauge

  • Nice. I like the old stuff but I am more into new stuff like say Amtrak's California Zephyr, Coast Starlight and new BNSF stuff. Old stuff is cool to.

  • I dont really like the new deisls,The GP-38 is cool,But I love the old timers

  • Nice

  • I always wanted to ride on this railroad, but living on the east coast, this would be very difficult. After seeing this, I feel one step closer to achieving this goal.

  • It is such a beautiful area! Definitely Mother Nature at her finest!

  • Rock on love it :)

  • This is also one of my favourite all time songs, and most definitely one of the best country songs ever written :)

5 stars everytime, thank you soo much for uploading this song :)

  • this has to be one my most favorite songs

  • Thanks! It's one of my favorites too and since there were no videos anywhere online I decided to make one with actual pictures of Silverton and the mountain and trains.
