@mardamek1 Can also come down to how the car is set up. I wager a decent set of mud-terrain tyres and a mild 2-4" lift would've made a world of difference for the Effie, as well as a front locker. :)
Subaru's do kick ass and are great cars, but so are ford trucks, and to be fair the subrau would have been stuck too. The difference is the will Ford came out in one piece. The legacy would have been up to its doors in the mud pit. You would most likely tear the body apart trying to tow it out
Looks like my car...I own the same Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT w/ same grey color too...just put in new Six Star (the best for Subaru) head gaskets due to overheating but I LOVE MY SUBARU for the AWD baby!!!...I feel safe and secure in my little beast in any weather or terrain
You don't see that very often! I used to have a 1998 Toyota Camry, I have a video of it on my profile. I had a set of Firestone Town & Country Snow/Mud tires on the front, during the winter time I used it to pull out a Suzuki XR-7 that had gotten stuck sideways in his driveway. That lil car was a TANK!
Of course the Subaru could pull it out. Though it is impressive I must say lol... What was that guy doing getting a stock F-150 in that swamp, try the concrete next time lol.
@dodgyplonk I honestly don't see it as embarrassing. If that Subaru was in that mud it would've been worse off than that truck due to lack of ground clearance. It probably would have even taken some damage to the undercarriage when it got towed out. I would personally just go with impressive. I'm surprised that Subie had enough torque to pull it out.
@miken021972 Actually, you're wrong. Notice that even though the truck is accerating it has no traction. Therefore the truck might as well be in neutral.
@loweredtalon That Subaru would not pull the truck out of those ruts as dead weight. Many vehicles would not unless they were very heavy with good tires.
Mud and grass are slippery, but they are not perfectly frictionless environment.
And if it was perfectly frictionless, then I could blow on the tailgate with a fan and get the truck out, rofl.
lol. cool video... but if your subaru was in the mud hole that truck was in you'd be just as stuck. I got my subaru stuck in the mud once, all 4 wheels were off the ground. I hit the mud hole too slow.
F1-shitty. POS FORD! Japanese engineering for the win. Sad really, how heavy, unsafe, slow, useless and miserable those F150s are. Least safe production vehicle sold in the USA is not a very good title.
The thing is though, the're big enough that they crush any other car on the road, thus they dont get smashed unless they crash into a stationary object.
@deluxeg idiot driver killing rollover machine is what makes em less safe. pls note m8 i am not calling u an idiot, just ppl who try to drive top heavy trucks like Mario. Hell, personally i am all about it, just a tiny slice of natural selection left now-a-days :P
The fuck are you talking about, the F-150 has been the top selling, safest pickup for over 30 years. He was running a stock F-150 through 2 or 3 feet of mud, any stock truck would get stuck with street tires and bad lockers.

The Subaru had a whole bunch of tow points on it, 2 on the front, one on the back. They came in handy quite often!
