  • @striferift could u tell any difrence with the down pipe on ur car? im thinking a n/a build would be a cool mix up

  • @dakotaslade93 There was a definite increase in throttle response with this down pipe as well as a little increase in power. If you combine it with a cat delete or high flow cat, you should see even better results.

  • Where did u place the down pipe at...i eanna do this to my 93 3000gt!

  • lucky guy!! looking into buying a ls 95

  • i like this i know what im doing with my system on my gt now lol

  • can you make a take off video?

  • @coldcash12345 I may be doing some exhaust work in the near future so If i remember, I may make the video of taking it off. Although it's fairly straight forward as long as you can break the bolts loose...which is definitely the hardest part.

  • @StrifeRift I actually bought the downpipe lol! I am soon getting the race pipe too but the bolts came off easy for me after soaking them with PB blaster. That stuff is great but it was a tight fit up into the car especially doing it from my garage floor when I had a rack availabe at my dads shop. Stupid mistake! But thanks for responding, I appreciate it.

  • @coldcash12345 Good 'ol PB blaster. That's what I typically tell people to soak bolts in if they're not budging. Glad to hear you got yours off without drilling/cutting some of the bolts out.

  • @StrifeRift and i had air tools :P

  • hahaha i live in NC too, im throwing some straight pipes on my 97... cant wait :D. sounds nice tho, good job

  • so i just wanna get things clear before i make a $300 investment...the 3sx downpipe will fit on an n/a? because all i can find is for a vr4..

  • @happyafterdeath go to 3sx.com

  • Hey bro, mine is stock and sounds NOTHING like that. How do you make it sound like that?

  • Only thing I have done to mine is the 3sx downpipe and open air filter. That and it's the 3.0L DOHC engine.

  • Mine is a 96 so I think I got diff engine? Is that why mine sounds really quite? or I just need to get downpipe n open air filter?

  • if you have a 96 and it's not the VR4, then you should have the same engine. Does yours sound like my "before"? Mine may be a little louder due to the exhaust leak, which is why I replaced my downpipe anyway.

  • Yeah its little quiter idk why. I'm thinkin bout getting new catback exhaust to make it louder?

  • thankful i dont live in CA im goin for straight pipe goodness

  • do you think i can pass CA SMOG with a downpipe and cat back?

  • Negative

  • looks like this is on my wishlist. thanks from the video broski

  • Is this the base engine?

  • Yes, the base engine in a 1995 3kGT. I believe in 1997 they had the base model with a SOHC engine instead of the higher powered DOHC.

  • as in base engine you mean sohc? because base engine all the way up to 96 was dohc... then it was sohc, dohc, dohctt

  • Damn Mitsu was revealing the fate of the 3000GT already by then. Thanks to price-gouging, dickless insurance companies, they forced the death of sports cars. It'd be a WHOLE different story had they not been given a blank check from our lovely ELECTED (yea right) officials.

  • @ichbingott4510 This is true my friend very very true... owell i am glad i have my hands on a vr4 is all... now i can live happily lol

  • holy shit i am so buying this~!

  • The 3sx dowpipe was great on mine! Nice sound, the extra power was noticeable. Good workmanship too.

  • lol in the first part when it was all stock sounds just like mine down to the little rattle and btw do know what causes that?

  • ha, I really have no idea exactly what caused that little rattle.

  • must be heat shields or something

  • quite a different sound! omg and no smoke! I am impressed! someone that actually takes care of one of these vehicles...haha

  • thats nice

  • i was thinking about buying the down pipe for mine

  • wow that sounds pretty different.

    Nice

  • Sounds great! I will be doing this to my car as well. Although I cant decide whats going to go on the other end... :D I'm trying to get as close to the '60's -'70's muscle car V8 sound as I possibly can.

  • how does the down pipe work or like who is it installed. do u remove anything of the old mufflers sorry dont know much. i have a stock exhaust on mine.

    3000gt sl 1996

  • Wow, sorry i never replied to you...but in case you are still wondering or to anyone else out there...

The only thing you have to remove is the old downpipe. The 3sx one fits perfectly, you dont have to remove your mufflers or cat or any other piping. You can get a local muffler shop to do the work for you, or do it yourself.

  • how much is it to get the downpipe installed? after seeing your vid, i wanna slap one on mine too!

  • You can read my reply to samkobe8 for a bit more info, but you don't have to remove anything except the old downpipe. There's 2 bolts on each exhaust flange, and 2 bolts on the cat and that's all you need to remove. So..you just take the bolts off, remove the old downpipe and put up the new one. The 3SX one, u can either weld the middle section together or just bolt it together with the supplied tool.

  • I have a question, do you need to weld anything when swithing the dp?

  • No, everything is direct bolt un. 3SX specializes in 3000GT's, everything they make is direct bolt on.

  • north carolina

  • north carolina

  • i think hes from north carolina is that where santa lives?

  • I really like it. Nice and deep. i just got a dp leak like yours and plan to get this along with a flowmaster 40 series. Good combination?

  • I would say yes, I've heard some very nice/mean sounding 3/s's with a 40 series, but can't speak from experience. Its gonna be loud though. I've heard some people say to keep a resonator, but that's up to you.

  • Made it a little deeper. Sounds better than stock plus a couple extra horses never hurt. Are these the long tube or just the down pipe?

  • Just the downpipe from 3SX. Stock manifolds are still there.

  • Also the stock cat-back as well? I have a SOHC car and I have been looking into getting some small upgrades for it. The 3SX D/P definitely looks like a quality piece, did you have any problems with fitment or anything?

  • No problems with fitment, but the old bolts can be a pain. Mine had a lot of rust caked on them.
