Um, realistic how? You mean to tell me coming back from the dead, long lost children, and ghost appearances are all apart of reality? Latham has turned this once character-driven masterpiece into a plot-driven pile of steaming hot shit!

That's tellin him postdebut! :) I've started watching BB (gave up on YR ages ago), and it now has much of the 'feel' of the 'old' YR as well as some of the 'old' characters- the old Vicki (Heather Tom), Ashley (Eileen Davidson), Meagan, etc., Might be worth checking out if you don't already watch.

Y&R IS more realistic now. People actually talk like real people and don't have the same conversations over and over. There have also been realistic storylines like Devon's meningitis, Daniel's porn addiction and Victor's epilepsy.

Soaps are not typically about realism tho are they. If you want that kind of thing you can watch any number of TV shows or series. And what you're really saying is that the focus is now on the storylines rather than the characters. That's what LML has done, and most YR fans don't like it!
