well first of all, kxly, i'd like to say FUCK THE POLICE IN SPOKANE. they unlawfully shot multiple people in the last 2 years, with slim to no concequences. I have been also a whitness/victim of the way the police there operate. I for one think IAD (internal affairs department) should, without a doubt be investigating the conduct of the spokane police department
notice that only the protester are standing up for their innocence and the bystanders are reporting the confrontation as well as the police. All in all, public visual evidence and police; one....protesters....never had a chance lol case closed. (on another note, i agree that brutality is bad to go however demonstrating in the most inconvenient of times is not the best way to go about business, that's like handing out condoms to an abstinence class)
Where did these kids get the idea that having social awareness, strong convictions and a sense of moral obligation meant that they should gather in a public place, wave signs and show solidarity? Hmmm, let me think...oh, yeah! The Womens Suffrage Movement, The Civil Rights Movement, The Equal Rights Movement, The Vietnam War Protests, The Gay & Lesbian Rights Marches, No Nukes, Save the Whales and countless other issues that we, our parents or our grandparents found personally abhorrent!
Those hippies went out there WANTING to get arrested obviously, they were on private property and asked politely to leave on several occasions and failed to comply. If YOU were a Police Officer asked by the owner of the property to remove the hippies, what would YOU have don different? Personally, I would've sawwed their heads off to show them how the country would be run without the military or police to protect them FROM terrorists.
These arrests are completely legit. These kids were protesting on what they thought to be a public place but because it had been rented out for the 4th July festivities, it was private property for the event. The company renting out the property called the police and asked them to take care of it. They did exactly what they should do. They told the kids to disperse, they didn't
You can do alot w/ protesting and bitching and whining. Instead, you should actually DO SOMETHING for a change.
I am much more tempted to believe the cops rather than some teenage hippie who can't face the fact that a person can make a difference without protesting.
The cops did exactly what was reasonable. They asked the group to leave. One member got confrontational, they took care of it (WITHOUT ANY SORT OF BRUTALITY). The group was ASKED to leave AGAIN. They didn't. What choice did the police have?
I'm interested to know exactly how to make a difference without protesting. Is it even possible? Isn't merely asking for change a protest of the current policy? An objection to all or part? Perhaps you should take a look at what is left of our Bill of Rights and compare it to the pre-Patriot Act version, because conformist sheep such as yourself are the very reason we lose rights everyday, you roll over and let the government tell you how its going to be.
I'd like to know where those idiot protesters got that huge flag? I wonder if it was the one that was stolen from a bank on the south hill a few weeks prior to this event? I wish the SPD would crack down a little harder on these kids!!

My friends and I protested police brutality once. I was carring a Remington 700, my buddies were carring an AR-15 and a Polish Tantel.

If the police were actually doing their job Mr. Moran, the guy interviewed at the end of the segment, would've been a lifeless corpse.

sometimes during these protests the police will plant "troublemakers" to make a disturbance. Then the cops have free reign of the proceedings.
