@vidform When you see the early part of the vid, when that red truck pulls around the camera and the chick yells "whoooo"...those were my headlites further down the road behind them. The reason they didn't get flipped over and damaged further is because their vehicle was constructed to stay anchored, and the tornado was just getting started. The gust that blew out his window is seen in my vid...where I go "oh man, did you see that"?? YouTube keyword joel ewing and you can see that gust easily.

Their vehicles was modified for this purpose. It lowers itself to the ground so the wind simply flow over it. If the reading of a 138.8 mph gust is accurate, that puts this around the EF2-EF3 line, which is a fairly strong tornado.

@punktheman It was probably a small tornado. Probably a F0 or F1. The wind speeds of an F0 are around 72 mph and a F1 tornado wind speeds are around 73-112. So it could have very well been a low wind producing tornado and that is why they did not go flying to Mars.

@punktheman In normal cases, you would be sent flying or ar least turned around or knocked over. The Dominator is a specialized car though. Saw it last year when Reed Timmer gave a talk. As I understand it, the car has been designed to reduce the enhancement of the wind underneath the car, which makes it less likely to get picked up and go flying. Not sure of the specifics on it...so don't take my word for it.
